    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial floating island designed so as to prolong years of duration, and to provide a connecting tool preventing concrete blocks from coming in touch with each other or coming in collision. SOLUTION: The artificial floating island is structured as follows: forming a plurality of inclined holes which are passed each through a foaming-resin floating body from its upper surface to its side surface in an oblique direction to cover the side surface with a porous concrete frame; inducing plant stem roots growing on a vegetation base body to the inclined holes to elongate them to the outside of the porous concrete frame so as to firmly unite the floating body and the porous concrete together; projecting part of a volt embedded into the porous concrete frame forming the outer frame of the artificial floating island; making the artificial floating islands separate from each other in a prescribed distance via connection rubber provided with a flat plate bridging the artificial floating islands adjacent to each other and a perpendicular plate perpendicularly attached to the flat plate so as to come in contact to the outer frame of respective artificial floating islands adjacent to each other; and inserting the volt into the connection rubber and fastening it with a nut.
