    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily achieve a long-range communication network ranging from several hundred meters to several kilometers, even on site.SOLUTION: An optical fiber cable winding drum includes a body part 2a around an outer periphery of which an optical fiber cable 3 is wound. A communication means can be extended by delivering the optical fiber cable 3 from one end side. A connector 7 allowing a LAN cable 6 connected to a switching hub 5 with a power supply function to be connected from the outside is provided at a side surface of the optical fiber cable winding drum 2. A power supply separation device 8 separating a signal from the switching hub 5 into a power supply and data and a media converter 9 are built in an internal space of the body part 2a. The media converter, to which the other end of the optical fiber cable 3 is connected, is connected to the power supply separation device 8, using the power supply separated by the power supply separation device 8 as a driving power supply, and performs signal conversion in accordance with a difference between communication media of the optical fiber cable 3 and the LAN cable 6.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight-measuring element by which an inexpensive, high-precision weighing apparatus can be obtained, and the weighing apparatus.
      SOLUTION: Light enters an entrance end of an optical fiber (20a, 20b) having a core and a clad formed at the periphery of the core and an optical transmission member allowing interaction between a part of light to be transmitted and an outside field, and the light passing through the optical transmission member (SP) exits from an exit end. A first substrate 1 is placed below the optical fiber so that at least the part of the optical transmission member and a part in the vicinity thereof are mounted. A second substrate 3 formed with an opening 3a is placed above the optical fiber so that the part of the optical transmission member is positioned within an area of the opening. A pressing member 4 formed of a material which is harder than the first substrate and the second substrate is fit into the opening. A load equalizing substrate 5 is provided on the second substrate and the pressing member. A part of the pressing member pressing the part of the optical transmission member of the optical fiber generates a bend in the vicinity of the optical transmission member of the optical fiber when a load is applied to the pressing member.
