    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for combustion gasification by which a low tar and medium calory generated gas usable for gas engines and the like is inexpensively and safely produced using biomass and the like.
      SOLUTION: A gas having reduced tar and about 1,000 kcal/nm
      3 is safely obtained by two column partial combustion gasification system and its method. The gas obtained can drive gas engines and automobiles. The reduction of tar results from the adsorption, high temperature decomposition and gasification in the char layer on the side of the non-partial combustion gasification part. For further reduction, the decomposition is made by the downstream catalyst. The temperature of the char layer gets as high as 800°C or higher due to the accumulated heat of combustion and the transfer of the heat of the partial combustion. The furnaces are in contact with each other, yet mutually independent, which promotes safety. The intermittent supply of the biomass makes peaks of the generated gas, which allows to intake or supply air outside of the range of explosion.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance compact combustion gasification apparatus which is flexible as a locally dispersible apparatus and gives a product capable of being used as a raw material for power generation and power sources, while conventional apparatuses, using biomasses, coal or combustible wastes singly and further using air as a combustion gasification agent, have problems such as a small quantity of the produced gas, a small calorie, especially by-production of tar in a case using coal, and utilization of the product not matched with needs.
      SOLUTION: Biomasses, coal or combustible wastes are suitably processed into mixed briquettes on the viewpoint of elements. Air is used as a combustion gasification agent. The briquettes are supplied to the lower stage of the combustion gasification apparatus which is divided into two portions. Air is fed into one of the two portions and the produced combustion gas containing tar is fed into the other portion from above to reduce tar content by passing the piled layer of the briquettes and discharged to the outside of the apparatus as the product gas. Then air is changed over to combustion-gasify the piled layer where tar content is reduced. The operations are alternately repeated to produce the easily usable product gas containing little tar.
