    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein large cross sectional area of a handrail support column part is necessary to improve performance of horizontal load resistance and a large hole corresponding to the area must be drilled in concrete in a mounting part for construction in a post-construction method for an aluminum handrail or the like.SOLUTION: The anchor is formed by fixing flat-bar steel or round steel having large section modulus on an end part of a support column reinforcing pipe by welding it, and area of the hole to be drilled in concrete surface is reduced.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrofitting method which can impart, to a handrail, horizontal load-bearing strength substantially the same as that of a handrail fixed according to a conventional prefabricated form method (welding method). SOLUTION: According to the retrofitting method, holes 8, 9 are formed in a parapet portion of a concrete skeleton in a balcony or a corridor of an apartment house or the like, and an epoxy adhesive is filled therein, followed by rigidly bonding a support reinforcing member 7 of the handrail as an erect anchor to the epoxy adhesive in the holes. Further, a support portion 1 of the aluminum handrail is fitted onto the rigidly erected support reinforcing member 7, and then fixed to the same by screws.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a construction cost and lighten a burden of workers concerning a post-fitting method for drilling holes in conventional concrete surface and fixing aluminum handrails therein with an epoxy-based adhesive material. SOLUTION: The post reinforcing members of the aluminum handrail are set to a concrete placing form by using a fixture to be fixed therein by placing concrete.
