摘要： A method is provided for operating a wireless interface between a wearable computing hub and one or more peripheral devices. The computing hub provides all primary computer processing and connectivity functions while the peripheral is a thin client device that functions primarily as an input/output device. The method of the invention establishes the wireless interface while (i) supporting different types of peripheral devices, (ii) minimizing computational requirements for the interface at both the computing hub and at each peripheral, (iii) minimizing power consumption of the interface at both the computing hub and the peripheral, and (iv) adapting to any noise or interference in the wireless link between the computing hub and the peripheral.

摘要： A method of adaptive image acquisition includes obtaining a guide image of patient tissue; receiving an intraoperative image of a portion of the patient tissue from an imaging instrument; and storing the intraoperative image. The method includes comparing the intraoperative image with the guide image to identify at least one region of the guide image matching the intraoperative image; and determining whether the at least one region identified meets at least one accuracy criterion. When the at least one region meets the at least one accuracy criterion, the guide image is rendered with an indication of the at least one region on a display. When the at least one region does not meet the at least one accuracy criterion, the method includes receiving and storing a further intraoperative image; combining the further intraoperative image with the intraoperative image; and repeating the comparing and determining.

The cannula includes a tissue engagement portion, preferably in the form of an annulus, to which a vacuum is applied through the cannula to attract and hold tissue of the biological system in an initial connection while an affixment device is applied to complete the connection. In addition to a working fluid conduit, comprising a main port, a working fluid passage and a working fluid port, and a port to apply the vacuum, the cannula can include a sensor port to allow sensing pressure or other characteristics of the working fluid at a point closely adjacent to the connection between the cannula and the biological system.

The server includes a memory storing an account record including an account balance and a count of failed service requests; a network interface; and a processor interconnected with the memory and the network interface. The processor receives a request to access a data service for a mobile device corresponding to the account record; and to determine whether the account balance is sufficient to access the data service. When the account balance is not sufficient, the processor compares the count of failed service requests to a threshold. When the count exceeds the threshold, the processor sends a notification to the mobile device, and when the count does not exceed the threshold, the processor increments the count. The processor also returns a message denying access to the data service.
