摘要： A fluorimeter reference cell comprising a rare earth salt solution or other optically transparent solution with a well-defined and characteristic absorbance pattern which material emits an absorption spectrum when an excitation light is incident upon it. The absorption spectrum has a defined characteristic enabling wavelength calibration of the fluorimeter. The reference cell comprises a second material, a light scattering colloid such as colloidal silica. The dispersive properties result in the absorption spectrum being scattered or reflected at an angle to the angle of incidence of the excitation light incident on the reference cell.

摘要： A brake control valve arrangement for controlling application of a braking force comprises an electro-pneumatic brake control valve block (8) comprising a hold valve and a vent valve (PRESSURE CONTROLLER), a main regulator valve (9) (RELAY VALVE) and an emergency (15) and a variable load control pressure regulator (16). The valve block (8) has an inlet (2) for a brake supply pressure, and an outlet (3, 4) in pneumatic connection with a brake cylinder. A pilot pressure into the main regulator valve (9) from the variable load control pressure regulator (16) is controlled by a remote release solenoid valve (17) (CONTROL CHAMBER VENT MAGNET VALVE). The remote release solenoid valve (17) is adapted to vent brake cylinder pressure to atmosphere when de-energised thereby enabling release of the wheel braking force via the main regulator valve (9).

One class of such applications includes applications that rely on illuminating the user's face with light from the device's display screen. The feedback is abstracted to avoid biasing the user with aesthetic considerations. The abstracted imagery may include real-time cartoon-like line drawings of edges detected in imagery of the user's head or face.
