摘要： A suspended particle device (SPD) film or a laminate of such film, wherein the film includes substrates coated on at least a portion of their inner surface with a polythiophene-based conductive polymer to serve as electrode means. The polymer may be applied in the form of an aqueous composition comprising, in addition to the polymer, at least one solvent and at least one binder. A preferred poly thiophene-based conductive polymer is a polyethylene dioxythiophene (PEDT) polymer. The polymer may be doped with polystyrene sulfonate. The polymer electrodes may be connected to a conductive material that extends beyond an outer boundary of the film for connecting the film to a suitable voltage source. An adhesion value of adhesive strength between the cured emulsion and the polymer coating is at least 1.46 N/25 mm.

Use of these barrier layers and/or use of particulate coated acid is believed to promote a more simultaneous release of the components of the composition than is achieved by prior art acid-protection techniques, thus enhancing, and making more consistent, the bioavailability of the active peptide compounds.

摘要： A method for augmenting bone in a subject in need thereof including installing within an interior portion of a bone located in the subject a sufficient amount of a biocompatible material to form a scaffold within the bone interior, wherein the scaffold serves as a support for the formation of new bone within the bone interior portion, and administering to the subject a sufficient amount of at least one bone augmentation agent to elevate blood concentration of at least one anabolic agent in the subject. The method may further include administering at least one anti-resorptive agent to the subject in an amount sufficient to substantially prevent resorption of new bone growth. In another embodiment, the method may further include a step of mechanically inducing an increase in osteoblast activity in the subject, wherein the elevation in blood concentration of the anabolic agent and the increase in osteoblast activity at least partially overlap in time.

摘要： A display device comprising a Suspended Particle Device film or other material for controlling the amount of illumination transmitted to an object from one or more light sources to protect the object from degradation by light is described. The display is capable of being dark when the object is not being viewed and being highly transmissive when the object is to be viewed. If desired, the display device may be controlled so as to provide a substantially constant amount of illumination when the object is viewed or intended to be viewed.
