    • PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive manual override with reliability by providing a stopper means for axially moving a screw through a housing, and a release means for disengaging the stopper means to carry a nut with the screw. CONSTITUTION: This manual override comprises a housing 26 freely installed in a part of a seat 12 or a backrest part 16, a screw 46 freely installed in the other end of the seat or the above part 16, a nut 40 screw-fitted to the screw 46, a stopper means 52 for normally fixing the nut 40 to the housing 26, in which the screw 46 is power-driven to move in the axial direction through the housing, and a freely manual-operated release means 60 for disengaging the means 52 to put the nut 40 with the screw 46 in the free state through the housing. The relative position between the part 16 and the seat is freely controlled by rotating the screw 46 and the nut 40 fixed to the housing 26, or rectilinearly moving the nut 40 released from the housing 26 with the screw 46 through the housing 26.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a push-button remote control device, and to use it together with a narrow armrest by forming both the lever and the lower end of a plunger in a fork shape, and also by fitting the end of the sleeve to a frame in a position higher than the lowest end of the stroke of the plunger. SOLUTION: A horizontal arm 48 of a lever is branched in a fork shape by a perpendicular slot 56 of the lever so as to have two legs. A plunger 35 is likewise brached in a fork shape along the perpendicular plane to form two parallel prongs partitioned by a perpendicular slot 60. In the normal position of a control system, a cam end 38 of the plunger 35 is positioned above the exposed part 86 of a wire, and the slot 60 of the plunger is aligned along the perpendicular plane with the slot 56 of the lever. The cam contact region between the plunger end part 38 and the cam periphery 42 of the lever moves within the vertical plane intersecting with the exposed part 86 of the wire during the descending stroke of the plunger 35. Initial cam contact occurs above the exposed part 86 of the wire, and moves to the lower part of the exposed part 86 in the perfect depressed position.
