    • An article dispenser for individually dispensing a plurality of articles on a timed basis. A plurality of modules, each containing a magazine having a plurality of circumferentially spaced, open top and bottom ended article storage compartments and a rotatable disk having an aperture successively alignable with each storage compartment in the magazine, are vertically stacked in a column. A drive motor and timing dial rotates the disks through interlocking timed lugs mounted on each disk in a staggered, angular offset, timed relationship in which the apertures in each disk are angularly offset through the stack so that the articles in the storage compartments are successively transferred through the storage compartments of each successive module to the next lower module and from the lowermost module to a circular track disposed below the lowermost module. A paddle rotates about the track at a predetermined time interval to transfer the articles to an interior holding chamber from which the articles are retrieved when a door is opened or, if not timely retrieved, are transferred from the article holding chamber to a storage container. Sensors detect the presence of articles in the non-retrieved article storage container, and in an interior holding chamber between the lowermost module and the discharge chute and activate indicators and/or lights.

    • A coin-operated massage table features an intersegmented traction table having a plurality of rollers rotating in clockwise and counter-clockwise directions that travel up and down a patient's back. The patient is lying in a supine position on the table during the massaging process. A control panel is used to increase or decrease the height of the rollers which increases or decreases, respectively, the pressure on the back muscles. The control panel is mounted to the table and is connected to a bill acceptor device which accepts coins, bills, tokens, credit cards or debit cards. The massage table operates for a predetermined amount of time based upon the amount of money the patient inserts in the bill acceptor device. Other optional features of the massage table include a vibration device, and hot and cold and moist supplying devices in the table which are controlled by the control panel. These additional devices may be operated following an initial predetermined payment necessary to actuate the table, or may be operable only upon additional predetermined payments.

    • A parts feeder is provided which may be employed in feeding electronic parts such as chip components to a mounting device for mounting them on a printed circuit board, for example. The parts feeder is designed to lift up parts supplied from an inlet to a parts orientation chamber to an outlet along an inner peripheral surface of the parts orientation chamber using a magnetic mechanism. A parts orienting path is defined upstream of the outlet which allows only the parts oriented in given directions to pass therethrough. A guide member is disposed within the parts orientation chamber to guide the parts, which are unoriented in alignment with a parts transport path connecting the outlet and a parts pickup station and which are dropped from the outlet, to an inlet for facilitating transportation of the parts by the magnetic mechanism to the parts orienting path, thereby avoiding jamming of the parts in the parts orienting path.

    • A semi-automated pharmaceutical dispensing arrangement has a drug cabinet in which a control mechanism permits opening of the front door for an authorized attendant and permits the attendant to obtain the pre-filled bottles or containers of medication for a patient's prescription order. An array of linear dispensing modules each hold a front-to-back row of filled containers, which can be manually lifted out one at a time. A pusher mechanism in the module pushes the containers forward, so that containers are pushed into position for removal. These may be spring actuated. Each of the modules also has an associated signaling device, such as an LED that lights up to guide the attendant to the appropriate dispensing module. A controller processor, e.g., a computer, is associated with the cabinet for inputting patient-medication information and lighting the signaling LEDs for the modules. When the correct medicine is taken from the cabinet, an audible sound is provided and when an incorrect container is taken out, a different audible signal is sounded. Restocking the modules is limited only to authorized pharmacy staff with the proper access codes.

    • An arcade merchandise dispensing game delivers one or more visibly displayed articles from one of a plurality of pivotally mounted trays if a player causes a moving tripper to strike a portion of the tray so as to lift it far enough that one or more of the articles falls off the tray into a delivery chute. The strikable portion of the tray may be a tab that protrudes forward from the tray towards the player, where the width of the tab influences the probability of the tray's being struck. The tripper may be moved horizontally to and fro at a constant rate beneath the lowest of a number of rows of trays, and moved upwards in response to the player closing a momentary contact switch at an instant that the player believes is most likely to result in delivery of a desired one of the articles.

    • A portable fastener delivery system is provided that comprises an automated unloading mechanism that removes fasteners from a fastener storage device and delivers the fasteners through a delivery conduit to a work station. Generally, the portable fastener delivery system is mobile throughout a production facility so that fasteners may be delivered to a plurality of work stations. In operation, a signal is transmitted to a control system requesting a specific fastener configuration, and the control system causes positioning of the unloading mechanism adjacent the fastener storage device. A pneumatic source is then activated to cause the unloading mechanism to remove a fastener from the fastener storage device using a vacuum generator, and once the fastener is removed, the fastener is transported through a delivery conduit to the work station using pressurized air from the pneumatic source through a flexible fastener delivery tube.

    • A product dispenser comprising a cover, a slidable push element, a base and a landing is provided. The cover and the base are rotatable with respect to each other about a common axis. The cover comprises a roof opening in which the push element slides in opposing directions, advancing product from the interior of the cover onto the landing. In a preferred embodiment, the dispenser houses miniature zinc air batteries, secured to the base using an adhesive layer. When a cell is advanced from the interior of the cover onto the landing, the cell is separated from the adhesive layer, allowing air to pass into the cell and the cell to be activated. The landing preferably comprises a magnet for releasably securing product. The dispenser is then used as an inserter for orienting and placing the product in position in a device. The product is not directly handled during its removal from the dispenser or during its insertion into a device. In the case of a zinc air cell, the cell is untabbed without any direct handling of tab material by the user, and the material functioning as a tab stays with the dispenser upon separation from the cell.
