    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an accurate arrival direction evaluation function and to detect an arrival direction by selecting a receiver being connected to a plurality of elements from a number of antenna elements, performing signal processing by a digital phase detector, obtaining a rough arrival direction evaluation function, and performing integral processing of the function. SOLUTION: Output from an element 1 being selected from an antenna switcher A13 out of reception signals is inputted to a receiver 4-J, a phase is detected by a detector 5-J, and the covariance matrix of the output of a detector 5 is obtained by a reception signal covariance matrix calculator 6. Then, the characteristic value and the characteristic vector of the matrix are obtained as a noise characteristic value and a noise characteristic vector by a noise partial space matrix calculator 7. Also, a vector corresponding to an array response is calculated by a steering vector calculator 8. A noise partial space matrix is calculated by a rough arrival direction evaluation function calculator 15, and a rough arrival direction evaluation function is calculated from the vector. Then, the rough arrival evaluation function of the combination of elements is integrated by a rough arrival direction evaluation calculator 16, thus calculating the accurate arrival direction evaluation function. Finally, the arrival direction of arrival waves can be detected from the accurate arrival direction evaluation function.

    • PURPOSE:To receive a signal efficiently from a sound source by controlling the delay of outputs of a plurality of receivers according to the output of an oscillation sensor to coincide the main axis direction of a received beam with the direction of the sound source. CONSTITUTION:An acoustic signal received with elements 111-11M composing a receiver 3 is inputted into a beam former 15 through preamplifiers 121-12M and band pass filters 131-13M. The beam former 15 is comprises delay compensators 161-16M and an adder 17. The delay compensators 161-16M apply a delay compensation value according to a measured value of the angle of oscillation of a platform outputted from an oscillation sensor 14 to each of output signals of the band pass filters 131-13M to form a beam whose the main axis direction coincides with the direction of a sound source and outputs an output signal of the beam to an output terminal 18 to perform the subsequent processing.
