    • PURPOSE:To improve operation performance at low and high speeds and at acceleration, by providing an auxiliary throttle valve and a main throttle valve in an intake passage so that the auxiliary throttle valve is located upstream to the main throttle valve and by interlocking both the valves with each other through a linkage and using the intake pressure between both the valves to open and close the auxiliary throttle valve. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary throttle valve 9 and a main throttle valve 3 are provided in an intake passage 2 so that the auxiliary throttle valve 9 is located upstream to the main throttle valve. A fuel injector comprising a Venturi part 10a and a fuel nozzle 10b is provided in a notch made at one end of the auxiliary throttle valve 9. The shafts of both the throttle valves 3, 9 are interlocked with each other through links 31a-31c. An auxiliary lever 41 secured on the auxiliary throttle valve shaft 40 is pushed to open the auxiliary throttle valve 9. The links 31 are set so that the angle of opening of the auxiliary throttle valve 9 is smaller than that of the main throttle valve 3. A diaphragm unit 38 is coupled to the auxiliary throttle valve shaft 40 through a lever 39 and a rod 33 so that the auxiliary throttle valve 9 is opened when the intake pressure between both the throttle valves 3, 9 has become lower than a prescribed level.

The solenoid valve may include a coil and a valve body having a base fixed against movement and a valve head extending from the base. The valve head may be driven by the coil between a first position wherein the valve head at least partially obstructs the fluid passage and a second position wherein the valve head permits greater fluid flow in the fluid passage to control fluid flow through the fluid passage.

    • A carburetor valve and limiter cap assembly for limiting adjustment of fuel flow in a carburetor may include a needle valve and a limiter cap. The needle valve may have a tip, a threaded portion, a head having a flange with an outer diameter greater than the rest of the head, and one or more serrations formed on the head. The limiter cap may have a sidewall, a tab extending outwardly from the sidewall, a first cavity having an inner diameter sized for an interference fit with the flange, and at least one driving feature to engage at least one serration so that rotation of the limiter cap causes rotation of the needle valve. The interference fit between the flange and the limiter cap inhibits removal of the limiter cap from the needle valve to prevent undesired adjustment of the needle valves by an end user.

    • A combustion engine carburetor has a control valve assembly that generally controls flow through a fuel-and-air mixing passage extending through a body of the carburetor. The control valve assembly has at least one valve preferably of a butterfly-type having a shaft that extends transversely across the fuel-and-air mixing passage and journaled for rotation in the body about a rotation axis. The shaft has opposite trailing and leading end portions that project from generally opposing sides of the carburetor body. Axial movement of the shaft with respect to the body is limited by an axial retention feature that preferably has a radially enlarged end cap formed unitarily to the trailing end portion and a coupler snap fitted to the leading end portion. Preferably, the coupler is formed unitarily at least in part to a control lever of the valve having a rotation restriction feature that prevents rotation of the control lever with respect to the shaft and is orientated in such a way to the leading end portion so that the control lever and at least a part of the coupler is removable from the shaft.
