摘要： In a method of mapping peers in a peer-to-peer network to an overlay network, network coordinates are determined for a selected peer. The logical coordinates in the overlay network are determined based on the network coordinates. A zone is determined based on the logical coordinates. The network coordinates, a network address of the selected peer and the zone is stored as an object at a peer owning the zone, where associated information is stored in the peer that has the network coordinate and using the network coordinate as a key.

摘要： Substrates, optionally coated with an undercoating layer, having grafted there from one or more non-fouling materials are described herein. The non-fouling, polymeric material can be grafted from a variety of substrate materials, particularly polymeric substrates and/or polymeric undercoating layers. The graft-from techniques described herein can result in higher surface densities of the non-fouling material relative to graft-to formulations. Graft-from methods can be used to produce covalently tethered polymers. The compositions described herein are highly resistant protein absorption, particularly in complex media and retain a high degree of non-fouling activity over long periods of time. The compositions described herein may also demonstrate antimicrobial and/or anti-thrombogenic activity. The non-fouling material can be grafted from the substrate, or optionally from an undercoating layer on the substrate, preferably without significantly affecting the mechanical and/or physical properties of the substrate material.

摘要： A data overlay is built as a data structure on a logical space defined by a distributed hash table (DHT) in a peer-to-peer network. The data overlay includes a tree having tree nodes that each have a zone mapped to a corresponding DHT node in the logical space of the DHT. The logical space of the DHT is mapped to machines, each of which corresponds to one or more of more of the tree node zones. The tree nodes are hierarchically situated by tree node zone size and my available resource so that tasks are performed by machines in the peer-to-peer network according to the respective abilities of the machines to supply the tasks' demand. The tree, which self-organizes and self-heals on the same scale as the underlying DHT, is used together and disseminate information from and to the DHT nodes using the hierarchy of the tree nodes.
