    • A binding apparatus for binding both ends of an adhesive tape around an object has a base plate. A tape-retaining member is coupled to the base plate and has a spool onto which the adhesive tape is wound, allowing the spool to turn freely. An opening is located at one end of the base plate that houses the object to be wound. A tape-end processing device holds the adhesive tape from both ends and releases the free end of the adhesive tape. A plate is provided that freely moves in a direct line from the opening in the base plate to the tape-retaining section, and an arm coupled on the plate so that rotates freely. A plate-transfer device is provided for moving the plate in a straight-line direction. An arm-turning device is coupled to the arm to turn the arm. A straight-line position-detection device is provided that detects the position of the plate. A turn position-detection device detects the turning position of the arm. A control device controls the drive of the plate-transfer device and the arm-turning device with signals detected by the straight line position-detection device and the turn position-detection device.

    • A disk driving apparatus functions as a changer and employs a slot-in method that calls for inserting or removing a disk through an insertion/removal opening 315,316. Included is a plurality of trays 11 for supporting a removable disk thereon and arranged one above another so as to be capable of moving up and down. A single-tray insertion/removal opening 315 is provided and dedicated to one of the trays 11. A common insertion/removal opening 316 is adapted to be shared by the other trays other than tray 11 located at the top or the bottom. A carrier mechanism is adapted to move any desired tray 11 to a loading position corresponding to the common insertion/removal opening 316. The apparatus also includes loading mechanisms 319,320, each of which serves to carry a disk back and forth between the corresponding insertion/removal opening 315,316 and the targeted tray 11.

    • A rear underbody which forms a rear-under section of a vehicle body is provided with a pair of rear floor side members disposed along a longitudinal direction of the vehicle body in respective vicinities of both end portions of the rear underbody in a transverse direction of the vehicle body. A lower-arm bracket which supports a rear lower arm is disposed in a central portion, in the transverse direction of the vehicle body, of a lower surface of the cross member. This causes vibration of the rear floor pan to be sufficiently controlled and causes road noise to be sufficiently reduced.

The resulting first insulating film is formed with an opening for a bit line, through which a bit line having an on-bit-line insulating film on its top surface is formed. Thereafter, a second insulating film is deposited thereon. An opening for a charge-storage electrode is then formed in the first and second insulating film by removing, by a specified thickness, the portions of the first insulating film, on-bit-line insulating film, and second insulating film lying in a memory cell array region, followed by the deposition of a charge-storage electrode through the opening for a charge-storage electrode.

    • A method of fabricating a semiconductor memory device on a semiconductor substrate is disclosed. A gate electrode that becomes a word line, a bit line, and a charge-storage electrode are formed in a memory cell array region of a semiconductor substrate. A capacitor insulator layer and a plate electrode are formed in that order. Then, a BPSG film is formed in the memory cell array region and in the peripheral circuit region. A resist pattern is formed on the BPSG film, leaving the memory cell array region exposed. Using the resist pattern thus formed as a mask, an etching treatment is applied to remove an upper surface portion of the BPSG film lying within the memory cell array region by a given amount. After the resist pattern is removed, the BPSG film is heated in order that it reflows to planarize.
