A secondary synchronization channel (S-SCH) symbol is generated to include cell-specific information. The S-SCH symbol is mapped to the center of the available bandwidth of the system. In one embodiment, the S-SCH symbol is transmitted on different subcarriers at different sectors in the system. In another embodiment, the S-SCH symbol is transmitted on the same subcarriers at different sectors in the system.

摘要： A method and system for scheduling uplink transmissions in a single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) system are disclosed. A Node-B receives a scheduling request from a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). The Node-B selects at least one subcarrier block having a certain bandwidth for the WTRU based on quality of service (QoS) requirement of the WTRU. If the QoS requirement is high, the Node-B selects at least one subcarrier block having a large bandwidth and if the QoS requirement is low, the Node-B selects at least one subcarrier block having a small bandwidth. The Node-B then schedules uplink transmissions in a time domain and/or a frequency domain based on a predetermined factor. The Node-B may perform frequency and/or time hopping in scheduling the uplink transmissions.

摘要： A method and apparatus is used for generating a perfectly random secret key between two or more transceivers in a wireless communication network. In a point-to-point system, both transceivers produce an estimate of the channel impulse response (CIR) based on the received radio signal. The CIR estimation is synchronized and may include error correction and detection. A long secret key of bits is generated from a digitized version of the CIR estimate, from which a perfectly secret encryption key is derived by privacy amplification.

The P-SCH symbols are processed to obtain an initial detection of frame timing, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol timing, a cell identifier (ID), a frequency offset, and a cell transmission bandwidth. 摘要： A method and apparatus for accessing a contention-based uplink random access channel (RACH) in a single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) system are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) randomly selects a RACH subchannel and a signature among a plurality of available RACH subchannels and signatures. The WTRU transmits a preamble using the selected signature via the selected RACH subchannel at a predetermined or computed transmission power. A base station monitors the RACH to detect the preamble and sends an acquisition indicator (AI) to the WTRU when a signature is detected on the RACH. When receiving a positive acknowledgement, the WTRU sends a message part to the base station. If receiving a negative acknowledgement or no response, the WTRU retransmits the preamble.

For intra-Node-B serving cell selection, a serving Node-B measures channel quality indicators (CQIs) of each subcarrier block in an uplink of each cell controlled by the serving Node-B and selects a new serving cell based on the CQIs. The serving Node-B reports the selected new serving cell to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). For inter-Node-B serving cell selection, each of a plurality of Node-Bs measures a CQI of each of a plurality of subcarrier blocks in an uplink transmission in each cell controlled by each Node-B and forwards the CQIs to a serving cell selection entity. The serving cell selection entity selects a new serving cell/Node-B based on the CQIs. The serving cell selection entity may be a centralized access gateway, a current serving Node-B or a WTRU.

摘要： The present invention relates to secret key generation and authentication methods that are based on joint randomness not shared by others (JRNSO), in which unique channel response between two communication terminals generates a secret key. Multiple network access points use a unique physical location of a receiving station to increase user data security. High data rate communication data is encrypted by generating a random key and a pseudo-random bit stream. A configurable interleaving is achieved by introduction of JRNSO bits to an encoder used for error-correction codes. Databases of user data are also protected by JRNSO-based key mechanisms. Additional random qualities are induced on the joint channel using MIMO eigen-beamforming, antenna array deflection, polarization selection, pattern deformation, and path selection by beamforming or time correlation. Gesturing induces randomness according to uniquely random patterns of a human user's arm movements inflected to the user device.

摘要： A method for performing dynamic link adaptation by a user equipment (UE) in a cellular system, the UE having two coded composite transport channels (CCTrCHs) in an uplink time slot begins by estimating a transmit power for a first transport format combination (TFC) and a second TFC, each TFC corresponding to one CCTrCH. The estimated transmit power for the first TFC is compared with a maximum transmit power threshold of the UE, and is blocked if the estimated transmit power exceeds the threshold. The estimated transmit power for the second TFC is compared with the threshold, and is blocked if the estimated transmit power exceeds the threshold. The combined transmit power of the first TFC and the second TFC is compared with the threshold, and one TFC is selectively blocked if the combined transmit power exceeds the threshold, the blocking being based on a predetermined rule.
