In another example, techniques select compatible TDDframe structure pairs for a base station and a relay node that establishes operation with selected subframe pairs on a relay link, signal a blank subframe configuration for a relay node-attached user equipment corresponding to the selected subframe pairs, and, using the selected subframe pairs, perform communications between the base station and the relay node-attached user equipment, while performing back hauling during the selected subframe pairs signaled as blank subframes to the user equipment.

摘要： There is proposed a mechanism for cell identification or discovery. The cell transmits a control signal for identification which is received and processed by a UE. Depending on the operation state of the cell, which is one of an active state and a dormant state, the control signal is configured according to a first type of identification signaling for the active state and a second type of identification signaling for the dormant state, wherein at least one of communication settings and parameters of the first type of the identification signaling is different to the second type of identification signaling. Thus, a dormant cell state or an active cell state can be identified, wherein a communication quality measurement mode is adapted according to the detected cell state.

In another embodiment a UE selects, using a predefined criteria (such as priority order among different reference signal types or predefined minimum threshold transmission density of a particular reference signal type), a different reference signal type other than regularly-spaced common reference signals, or a physical channel, for the RRM/RLM measurements. These are useful for example in EUTRAN Release 12 wherein the new carrier type may not have CRSs, or where the eNB can be in a dormant mode and not transmitting regularly-spaced CRSs.
