The coating weight of the coating material 3 to be applied on the metallic strip 2 is predicted by using the determined pressure acting on the metallic strip. The pressing force at the time of pressing the groove rolls 1 to the metallic strip 2 is then controlled in such a manner that the predicted coating weight of the coating material 3 attains the target coating weight of the coating material 3.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a reduction in combustion efficiency to be prevented even if an arrangement of heated item or aging variation in a flame or composition of fuel shows a detrain variation by a method wherein a means for sensing ignitable components is arranged at combustion discharged gas output side of a heat accumulation member and a combustion air supplying means is arranged at a combustion discharged gas input side. SOLUTION: Auxiliary combustion air supplying positions are placed within fluid passages 13a, 13b, 13c and 13d of the heat accumulating members 4a, 4b, 4c and 4d near a furnace 1. Under this state, in the case that non-ignited components are detected in the combustion discharged gas, auxiliary combustion air for use in igniting not-yet ignited ignitable components is supplied to a combustion discharged gas input side, namely, supplied to the furnace 1, resulting in that not-yet ignited ignitable components contained in the combustion discharged gas are ignited at an input side of the heat accumulating member 4. Then, heat energy recovered by the heat accumulating member 4 is applied for pre-heating of the combustion air when combustion is carried out with a heat accumulating type combustion burner having heat accumulating member 4, resulting in that a combustion efficiency at the furnace 1 is not reduced.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent the defective shape by adjusting the water amount from nozzles based on the calculated value of the surface temperature distribution of the lower surface of the steel plate during the rolling corrected from the surface temperature distribution of the upper surface and the temperature distribution in the width direction to unify the surface temperature of the steel plate. CONSTITUTION: The surface temperature distribution of the upper surface of the steel plate 2 is measured by surface scanning type radiation thermometers 4, 4' before or behind a finishing mill 1, while the temperature distribution in the width direction of the lower surface is measured by radiation thermometers 5, 5. The results of measurements are received by an analysis and control device 6, the range of the non- uniform temperature which is higher than the prescribed surface temperature of the steel plate 2 by the prescribed value is established, and the required amount of the cooling water is calculated taking into consideration the steel kind, the thickness, the difference between the set temperature and the measured temperature. The temperature of the steel plate 2 is unified by continuously controlling the water amount of upper surface and lower surface cooling nozzles 8, 8', and 11, 11' installed in the width direction, and the defective shape of the steel plate in an accelerated cooling equipment after the rolling is prevented.
