    • A camera accessory capable of transmitting data to a camera includes a ROM for storing various data at a plurality of addresses, respectively. The data includes a group of data related to the camera accessory and other groups of data which are not related to the camera accessory, but are related to other camera accessories, such that the ROM memorizes all the data of different kinds of camera accessories, and such data are divided into a number of groups, each group related to one kind of camera accessory. The camera accessory further includes a code signal producer which produces a code signal when an accessory is mounted on the camera so as to identify the type of the camera accessory, a receiver for receiving a digital signal from the camera, and a controller responsive to the code signal and the digital signal for controlling the data transmission from the camera accessory to the camera so that only the data of one group related to the particular camera accessory are transmitted to the camera.

    • A film transporting device for use in a camera disclosed is so designed as to rewind the film such that no film portion is engaged in film take-up sprocket, resulting in an easy take out of the use film. The device in one form includes a counter that counts up the number of frames during a wind-up operation is carried out after the positioning of a film leader in contact with the take-up sprocket, and during a rewind operation, the counter counts down the same number of frames, or more, to locate the film leader in a disengaged position from the sprocket. The device in another form includes a film perforation detector. In this form, the film rewind operation is carried out until the perforation detector stops detecting the perforation. In a further form, the device includes a mechanical counter which counts up the frames used during wind-up operation, and during rewind operation counts down more than the number counted up to ensure that the film leader portion is withdrawn from the take-up sprocket.

    • A camera system having an interchangeable objective lens selectively mountable to at least two different types of camera bodies of a, first type and second type, is involved. The camera system has a ROM located in the interchangeable objective lens for storing a plurality of compensation data: one is suitable for the first type camera body; and the other is suitable for the second type camera body. Each data compensates an error in fully-open aperture light measurement for each type of camera. The compensation data is transmitted from the lens to the camera body. A register is provided in the camera body for storing a selected compensation data which is necessary for the type of camera body mounted with the lens. A device is provided in the camera body for practicing a fully-open aperture light measurement through the interchangeable objective lens to produce a light measuring information including the light measurement error. A calculator is provided in the camera body for calculating a correct exposure information using the compensation data stored in the register and the light measuring signal, whereby the error included in the light measuring signal can be removed.
