摘要： Disclosed is a method for enabling scalable progressive downloading of video signals. In the method, when a server transmits scalably encoded content data to a client, the server transmits some of the content data from a head of the content data to a tail of the content data according to transmission conditions, and transmits some of residual data of the content data having not been transmitted in the prior process. When scalably coded transmission content data is reproduced, the transmission content data are stored in a storage means as a file, the content data is read, decoded and output. Further, the recorded content data are read while an area having no recorded content data is skipped based on a specific code in the file.

The random access slice references only a slice corresponding to a same time and a different view of the random access picture. Type information indicating whether the random access slice is predicted from one or two reference pictures is obtained, and a reference picture list is initialized using view number information and view identification information included in obtained initialization information according to the type information. The initialization information is obtained based on a value indicating decoding order between the plurality of views. The initialized reference picture list is modified based on modification information representing how to assign an inter-view reference index in the initialized reference picture list. A prediction value of a macroblock in the random access picture is determined based on the modified reference picture list, and the macroblock is decoded using the prediction value.

A method for encoding a second color space pixel corresponding to coordinates of a first color space pixel using color spaces, includes encoding a pixel of a first color space; calculating a color space estimation value of a current pixel of a second color space by referring to the encoded pixel of the first color space; and encoding a differential value of the calculated color space estimation value and the current pixel value. Thus, the image compression efficiency can be enhanced by using the information between the color spaces in the image encoding, and the lossless image compression can be accomplished by ruling out the similarity of the pixels.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method for scalably encoding and decoding a video signal. In an embodiment of the present invention, motion information, such as reference indices, motion vector, modes, etc., for an enhanced layer can be derived from a base layer, and a reference index for an image block in the enhanced layer is determined using median criterion based upon the base layer. A reference index for a block, having the most pixels corresponding to those of the image block, in the base layer is selected as the reference index for the image block, and the nearer reference index is selected if more than one block in the base layer have the same pixels corresponding to those of the image block. And, a motion vector for the base layer block related to the selected reference index is selected as the motion vector for the image block.

摘要： A method and an apparatus of decoding a video signal are provided. The present invention includes the steps of parsing first coding information indicating whether a residual data of an image block in the enhanced layer is predicted from a corresponding block in the base layer, from the bitstream of the enhanced layer, and decoding the video signal based on the first coding information. And, the step of parsing includes the step of performing modeling the first coding information based on second coding information indicating whether prediction information of the corresponding block in the base layer is used to decode the image block in the enhanced layer. Accordingly, the present invention raises efficiency of video signal processing by enabling a decoder to derive information on a prediction mode of a current block in a decoder instead of transferring the information to the decoder.
