    • PURPOSE:To enhance capacity, by separating an ultrasonic wave generating part and a detection part and using a superconductive device in the detection part. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic wave generating part 12 and an ultrasonic wave detection part 13 are arranged to the surface of a living body 11 in parallel and bias voltage near to the gap voltage Vg of a superconductor is preliminarily applied to both terminals of a superconductive device and a tunnel current 41 is preliminarily allowed to flow. The ultrasonic pulse emitted from the ultrasonic wave generating part 12 is reflected at the boundary of the internal organ 14 in the living body to reach the ultrasonic wave detection part 13. The tunnel current is flowing to the superconductive device of an ON-state of the ultrasonic wave detection part but, since the tunnel current is extremely sensitive to external force, said current changes when the ultrasonic wave reaches and sound pressure changes. The intensity of the ultrasonic wave can be detected on the basis of the change quantity of the tunnel current. Therefore, when all of superconductive devices arranged two-dimensionally are set to an ON-state, the intensity distribution of the reflected ultrasonic wave can be measured.

When the detector group 104 is arranged over the total periphery of the visual field, measurement is performed while only the radiation source 101 is rotated by 360 deg. around the center 105 of the visual field 103 in a direction 106. When the detector group 104 is not arranged over the total periphery, measurement is performed while the radiation source 101 is rotated by 360 deg. around the center 105 in the direction 106 in such a state that the relative positions of the radiation source 104 and the detector group are fixed.

    • PURPOSE:To measure the liquid level in a container which has an optional curved surface with high sensitivity by using a composite piezoelectric body formed by embedding many columnar inorganic piezoelectric bodies in a sheet type organic material at right angles to the sheet surface. CONSTITUTION:A zircon-titanate (PZT) ceramic plate which is polarized uniformly in a thickness direction and, for example, 80mm square and 0.4mm thick is adhered on a ferrite base with electron wax, and this adhered body is cut in a mesh shape at 0.4mm pitch by using a blade which is 0.2mm thick. The sheet type composite piezoelectric body of 0.4mm in thick which is obtained by charging and caking polyurethane in grooves formed by said cutting is separated from the ferrite base by dissolving the electron wax. Then, composite piezoelectric bodies 12 of 10mm square are cut, two-layered films of chromium and gold are adhered on both surfaces as electrodes, and leads are fixed with a conductive adhesive. The obtained element 21 is adhered on the bottom surface of the container 23 which contains liquid and a driving circuit 22 for ultrasonic wave pulse generation is connected. Then liquid surface reflected ultrasonic wave pulses are observed 24 to measure the height of the liquid surface.

    • PURPOSE:To secure generation of sound with high efficiency over a wide frequency band by connecting the side faces of plural columnar piezoelectric bodies with organic matter to obtain a sheet type composite piezoelectric body and providing electrodes on both side of said composite piezoelectric body to drive this body with electroacoustic signals. CONSTITUTION:A PZT ceramics 1 polarized evenly in its thickness direction and having, e.g. a 100mm diameter and 0.5mm thickness is fixed to a flat plate. Then a mesh grooves are formed to the PZT ceramics 1 by a blade with 0.2mm depth and 0.15mm pitches. Then the urethane resin 2 is filled into those grooves and 2 grinding process is applied to the rear side of the substance 1 after the resin 2 is hardened. Thus a composite piezoelectric body 3 is formed. This body 3 is fixed to a ring 4 made of a hard material via a spring ring 5 so that the light tensile stress is applied to the ring 4. The electrodes 6 and 6' are formed on both sides of the body 3 and epoxy resin 8 is laminated on these electrodes as a protecting film. Then lead wire 9 is attached to the sub stance 3 via a conductive adhesive 7. In such a constitution, this piezoelectric speaker can produce acoustic signals with high efficiency over a wide frequency range.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an acoustic matching layer suitable for a high frequency by using material having a main component of metylol melamine resin as an acoustic matching layer material. CONSTITUTION:The metylol melamine resin has a characteristic good at a molding workability of high polymer material and at the same time and an extremely high acoustic velocity for the high polymer material, so that its acoustic impedance is high and it can be used as the acoustic matching layer material between an electric and acoustic converting material such as piezoelectric ceramics and a medium such as water, a human body without a mixture. An ultrasonic wave emitted to a front surface from an array oscillator 1 composed of the piezoelectric material or the like is transmitted to the medium such water, a human body through an acoustic matching layer 2 composed of metylol melamine resin and the ultrasonic emitted to a rear surface is braked by a rear surface braking member 3. Different from the conventional type acoustic matching layer, it is the matching layer formed without mixing the material difference in the acoustic property, a scattering and attenuation are small with respect to a high frequency ultrasonic and an excellent acoustic characteristic is realized.
