    • PURPOSE: To obtain a gas information, by a method wherein a gas detecting sensitivity of a gas detecting element varies with a type of gas, and this is utilized for the solution of an equation set up by detecting outputs of a plurality of gas detecting elements and the detecting sensitivity of each type of gas.
      CONSTITUTION: Six lower electrode 412 are formed on a common resistant substrate 411 using gold conductor paste. An organic binder is kneaded in a gas sensor material, having 6 different detecting sensitivities, e.g., a CoO material for a sensor 401, a WO
      2 +Pt material for sensor 402, a VO
      4 +Ag material for a sensor 403, a ZnO+Pd material for a sensor 404, an Fe
      2 O
      2 material for a sensor 405, and an SnO
      2 material for a sensor 406. Using the material so kneaded, a gas detecting film is formed by a film printing techique. An upper electrode 415 is formed thereon. A signal from the gas detecting film so structured is fetched by the combination of the upper and the lower electrode, and concentration of each component gas is found by solving a siz-element linear equation obtained from the detecting sensitivity and detecting output of each detecting element.
