    • A vibration-damping device including: an elastic body connecting a first and a second mounting member: a pressure receiving and equilibrium chambers partially defined by the elastic body and a flexible diaphragm, filled with a non-compressible fluid and held in fluid communication through a first orifice passage and a second orifice passage that is tuned higher than the first orifice passage. A shut-off valve mechanism operable to selectively allow and inhibit fluid flows through the second orifice passage, an elastic oscillation plate partially defining the pressure-receiving chamber so that a fluid pressure in the pressure-receiving chamber acts on one surface of the elastic oscillation plate, and a working air chamber partially defined by the other surface of the elastic oscillation plate and oscillated by a periodic air pressure change in the working air chamber, are also incorporated. A method of controlling the same is also disclosed.

    • A dynamic damper includes a cylindrical mass metal element, a cylindrical elastic-body attachment portion, a cylindrical elastic-body connection portion, and an elastic-body covering portion. The elastic-body attachment portion is formed from a rubber elastic body and coaxially disposed inside the mass metal element while a predetermined radial distance is maintained therebetween. The elastic-body connection portion is formed from a rubber elastic body and disposed between the mass metal element and the elastic-body attachment portion so as to connect them. The elastic-body covering portion covers the outer circumferential surface of the mass metal element. The elastic-body connection portion and the elastic-body covering portion are not bonded to the mass metal element. A plurality of protrusions are formed and arranged circumferentially on the inner circumferential surface of the mass metal element.

Hence, the displacement of the tread of the vehicle pedal is controlled.

    • A preset state display apparatus includes a position detector, a memory, and a display. The position detector detects a set state of an adjustment portion adjusted in a change in printed matter or the like in a printing press. The memory stores a current set state of the adjustment portion which is detected by the position detector in correspondence with a key number represented by a storage command generated upon designation of the key number. The display calls, as a preset state, the set state of the adjustment portion which is stored in correspondence with the designated key number, in accordance with a call command generated upon designation of the key number, to display the preset state near an operation member corresponding to the adjustment portion.
