    • An object is to provide a highly efficient compressor while improving a refrigerant leakage, enhancing a performance of a compressor, improving durability, and enhancing reliability. The compressor comprises: a compression element comprising a cylinder in which a compression space is constituted; a suction port and a discharge port which communicate with the compression space in the cylinder; a support member which closes an opening of the cylinder; a rotary shaft which is rotatably supported by a main bearing as a bearing formed on the support member; a compression member whose one surface crossing an axial direction of the rotary shaft is inclined continuously between a top dead center and a bottom dead center and which is disposed in the cylinder to be rotated by the rotary shaft and which compresses a fluid sucked from the suction port to discharge the fluid via the discharge port; a vane which is disposed between the suction port and the discharge port to abut on one surface of the compression member and which partitions the compression space in the cylinder into a low pressure chamber and a high pressure chamber; and a shaft seal which is disposed on an end portion of the bearing (main bearing) on a side opposite to the compression member and which abuts on the rotary shaft.

    • A projector is provided wherein the shapes of rod integrators for the respective colors (i.e., the shapes of the output ports thereof) are made nearly the same as the shapes of the effective pixel regions and the sizes of the output ports of the rod integrators for the respective colors are made slightly larger than the sizes of the effective pixel regions of the liquid crystal light valves opposed thereto. As a result, uniform illumination light output from the output ports can be caused to enter the effective pixel regions with no loss or damage to uniformity.

    • A brake structure of a traction machine includes a brake drum which is made rotatable about a shaft disposed on a rotary axis of the traction machine, and an electromagnetic brake unit built in an inner space of the brake drum. The electromagnetic brake unit includes a plurality of movable iron cores, a plurality of brake shoes located on the outside of the individual movable iron cores and joined thereto by connecting members, the brake shoes having curved outer surfaces facing a curved inner surface of the brake drum, and a one-piece formed stationary iron core block. The one-piece formed stationary iron core block has a plurality of stationary iron core portions joined to the individual movable iron cores via compression springs for forcing the individual brake shoes against the curved inner surface of the brake drum via the movable iron cores and the connecting members.
