    • PURPOSE: A CDMA(code division multiple access) smart antenna system is provided to obtain a correlation value of an input signal and a reference signal and a weighting vector by using a traffic channel or some snap shots of a received traffic channel. CONSTITUTION: A CDMA smart antenna system comprises many linear array antennas(50), many RF transceivers(51), many digital beam forming network and weighting vector estimators(52), many finger(53), a rake combiner(55), a reference signal generator(54), and a hard limiter(56). The RF transceivers(51) convert data received from the linear array antennas(50) to digital baseband signals. The digital beam forming network and weighting vector estimators(52) perform beam forming on the baseband signals and calculate weighting vectors. The fingers(53) demodulate the beam forming signals. The rake combiner(55) sums up the demodulated signals. The reference signal generator(54) generates a reference signal for a respreading code to transfer it to the weighting vector estimator(52). The hard limiter(56) performs hard limiting on the output signal of the rake combiner(55) to compensate signature modulated by data.

    • PURPOSE: A device for estimating a channel in a time division bidirectional communication system is provided to use a channel estimating method from a chip unit, a symbol unit, and a time slot, thereby minimizing an error caused during channel estimation. The device is provided to use a simple averaging method, thereby reducing random FM phenomenon caused by a channel estimating error. CONSTITUTION: A converter(100) receives a transmitted RF signal, and converts the signal into a baseband signal. A matching filter(200) filters the converted signal. A multiplier(300) multiples a signal sampled by a sampling period with chip units from the filtered signal by a midamble sequence for I and Q codes. An adder(400) adds signals as many as all midamble chips from the multiplied signal. An accumulator(500) divides the added signals as many as the number of the midamble chips, and obtains an average value. A channel estimating calculator(600) calculates a channel estimating value through consecutive two time slots or one-time slot from output values of the accumulator(500).

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus for forming a forward beam using a multi-path information feedback and a method therefor are provided to reduce feedback data quantity and simplify a structure of a terminal by calculating an array response vector in a reverse direction in a base station, and receiving the strength of a common pilot signal and receiving only a fading characteristic of a forward channel in the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A searcher(203) matches and filters provided baseband digital data and detects a reverse multi-path. An arrival angle range measurer(204) estimates a plurality of angle regions which direct the multi-path direction detected in the searcher(203). An array receiver and demodulator(205) performs a space filtering of data received through an array antenna, and demodulates data fed back from a terminal. A forward beam forming weight value controller(207) calculates a plurality of transmission beam forming weight values which direct the angle regions estimated in the arrival angle range measurer(204), and selects one beam forming weight value for transmitting a data channel using feedback information of the terminal received from the array receiver and demodulator(205). A forward beam former and modulator(206) transmits the data channel using the beam forming weight value selected in the forward beam forming weight value controller(207), and transmits a control channel for grasping a forward channel characteristic successively using a plurality of transmission beam forming weight values.

The beam formation weight operator(108) calculates beam formation weight for each directional angle using an ideal beam pattern and the antenna response procession. The beam formation weight memory(101) stores the beam formation weight calculated for each directional angle and supplies it to the finger beam former(109). The searcher block(110), composed of a correlator(111) and a PN(Pseudo Noise) code generator(112), correlates the data received through a beam-formed antenna with a PN code.

    • 본 발명은 배열 안테나를 갖는 대역 확산 코드분할 다중접속(Code Division Multiple Access : CDMA) 시스템을 위한 이차원 복조기의 구조에 관한 것이다.
      배열 안테나를 사용하지 않는 대역 확산 CDMA 시스템에서는 시간 영역에서의 정보만을 레이크 수신기에 의하여 결합하여 사용하는 반면, 배열 안테나를 사용하는 경우에는 시간 영역 뿐만 아니라 공간 영역에서의 정보도 동시에 활용이 가능하다. 이제까지 이동통신 시스템에서의 배열 안테나는 주로 시분할 다중접속(Time Dibision Multiple Access; TDMA) 시스템에 적용되어 왔으며, 이에 따라 복조기 또한 TDMA 시스템에 적합한 구조만이 제안되어 왔다. 근래에는 대역확산 CDMA시스템에도 배열 안테나 구조를 적용하게 되었는데, 이 경우 기지국 복조기에 MUSIC 이나 그 이상으로 복잡한 방향 탐지 알고리즘이 필요하므로 그 실현 가능성에 의문이 제기되고 있다. 이러한 현상은 고속의 데이터 처리를 요구하는 미래의 이동통신 시스템에서는 더욱 심각한 문제를 야기시킬 수 있다.
      따라서, 본 발명에서는 CDMA 시스템에서 필수적으로 계산되어야만 하는 정보만을 이용하여 시간과 공간 영역에서 필요한 모든 정보를 추출하여 결합하므로써 기지국의 유효 범위와 시스템의 용량을 증가시킬 수 있는 배열 안테나를 갖는 대역 기지국의 유효 범위와 시스템의 용량을 증가시킬 수 있는 배열 안테나를 갖는 대역 확산 코드분할 다중접속 시스템을 위한 이차원 복조기의 구조가 제시된다.

A transceiver comprised of a respective mobile terminal includes a transmitter for encoding packet data from a processor into single PN(pseudo noise) code of a long period and a receiver for decoding the received PN code into the packet data to provide the same with the processor. The base station(12) is comprised of K receivers(42-46) and transmitters(50-54), respectively, for receiving a plurality of packets effectively under random channel access environment. These transceivers of the base station use the single spread spectrum code in common, and a fixed or adapted critical value detection method is used for a flawed packet decoding not to be tried due to false detection.
