    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge/discharge system capable of shortening a charging time of a hybrid-battery pack.
      SOLUTION: Since a battery block 35 and a battery block 33 stored in the hybrid-battery pack have different structures, they cannot be simultaneously charged by parallel connection. First, each block is singly charged by constant-current control in order during charging, and then they are simultaneously charged by the constant-voltage control. Simultaneous charging is performed by setting a FET 27 and a FET 31 to be turned off by a parasitic diode, so that a current between batteries can be blocked. A charger 17 can change the setting of a constant-voltage control voltage so as to compensate for a voltage drop by the parasitic diode. When power interruption occurs during the simultaneous charging, the FET 27 or the FET 31 is set to be turned on to supply electric power to a system load 43.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer coating film which has a high hardness and is not easily peeled. SOLUTION: The multilayer coating film 10 is formed from materials each having a hardness higher than that of an aluminum alloy 11. The multilayer coating film 10 has a bright nickel layer 13, a nickel phosphate layer 15 and a titanium nitride layer 17 laminated in this order on the aluminum alloy 11. The hardness is increased in the order of the aluminum alloy, the bright nickel layer, and the nickel phosphate layer, and the hardness of the titanium nitride layer is highest. The titanium nitride layer is hardly peeled even when scratch is caused, because the intermediate layers are laminated in the order of hardness although the difference between the hardnesses of the titanium nitride layer and the aluminum alloy is large.       SOLUTION: A first series of bits corresponds to compatibility information of firmware of a computer system. Each bit corresponds to an attribute of the firmware or the system, and is equal to one when the attribute denotes a potential incompatibility factor as to the attribute. A second series of bits corresponds to a firmware image with which the firmware is to be upgraded. Each bit indicates whether the firmware image is compatible with the attribute of a corresponding bit of the first series of bits, and is equal to one where the firmware image is compatible with the attribute. A logical AND operation is performed on the first and the second series of bits. Where the result of the logical AND operation is equal to the first series of bits, the firmware is allowed to be upgraded with the firmware image, and otherwise is disallowed.
