    • PURPOSE: To provide a universal joint for a parallel link mechanism, capable of smoothly actuating, receiving an axial load of the link and the like, and having high stiffness. CONSTITUTION: A universal joint 11 is provided with a Pa axis turning bearing 20, a Pb axis turning bearing 21 rotatably guided to the Pa axis turning bearing 20, and a Pc axis turning bearing 22 rotatably guided to the Pb axis turning bearing 21. Into the Pc axis turning bearing, a shaft 15 of a link and the like is rotatably guided. The universal joint has three rotational degrees of freedom, so that the universal joint is smoothly and lightly actuated to allow the shaft of the link and the like to have three-dimensional arbitrary attitude. The three rotational degrees of freedom is made from respective turning bearings 20, 21, 22, so that a load in an axial direction of the link and the like can be received.
