    • A fusion reactor (110) includes an enclosure (120) having a first end (320), a second end (330) opposite the first end, and a midpoint (340) substantially equidistant between the first and second ends of the enclosure (120). The fusion reactor (110) includes two internal magnetic coils (140A,140B) suspended within the enclosure (120) and positioned on opposite sides of the midpoint (340) of the enclosure, one or more encapsulating magnetic coils (150) positioned on each side of the midpoint (340) of the enclosure, two mirror magnetic coils (160) positioned on opposite sides of the midpoint (340) of the enclosure, and one or more support stalks (910) for supporting the two internal magnetic coils (140) suspended within the enclosure (120). The one or more encapsulating magnetic coils (150) and the two mirror magnetic coils (160) are coaxial with the internal magnetic coils (140). The magnetic coils (140) are operable, when supplied with electric currents, to form magnetic fields for confining plasma within the enclosure (120).
