Links 11, 12 are provided symmetricaly with respect to the links 4, 5 in chevron shape between the part 3 and the arm 9, and the base end of the links 4, 11 is provided with partial winding shells 13, 14, and a belt 15 is fixed at the both ends while being belted in crossing state so that the both links 4, 11 can be displaced equally and symmetrically, allowing to constitute the restricting device.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the response performance of an arm feeding motor, by controlling the gain of a servo circuit that produces the arm position control signal in accordance with the declination of the arm. CONSTITUTION:The declination of a linear tracking arm 3 containing a cartridge stylus 4 at an end is detected by a Hall element 21 to receive the comparison from comparators 35 and 36 having the set prescribed threshold value via an amplifier 34. In case the detected voltage is a value between both threshold values, a switch 32 is closed to increase the gain of an amplifier 23 which amplifies the declination detection signal by an amount equivalent to the resistance ratio of resistances 31 and 32. Accordingly the gain of a servo circuit which produces the arm position control signal is increased in case the arm declination is small to drive an arm feeding motor 27. As a result, the response performance is enhanced for a linear tracking arm feeding motor to ensure a smooth turning action of the motor from the stop mode.

    • Systems and methods are disclosed relating to electro-mechanical devices and related computer control and audio processing systems intended to optimize playback fidelity of phonograph records. Said recordings are manufactured by a process that employs a cutting head assembly driven in a straight path from the outer to the inner-most radius of the recordable surface. However, most record turntables device that are used to play back phonograph records rely on a stylus transducer attached to the end of a pivoting arm. Instead of the linear path followed by the original cutting head, said tonearm traces an arc across the surface of the recorded disk resulting in playback distortion proportional to error in alignment of said stylus relative to the tangent of the groove. This invention addresses this deficiency and produces an optimal audio quality of playback of phonograph records.

    • In a pickup carriage transporting mechanism for a disk record player, such as a video disk player, a stopper made of a plate like member having a U-shaped recess is provided to correct the attitude of the carriage. The carriage is arranged to move left and right so that the stylus of the pickup moves linearly to pick up information from a disk on a turntable. Since the carriage is pulled at its front end by a loop-like wire to effect the leftward and rightward movement, the carriage is apt to be inclined from a desired angle. When the carriage is returned to its resting position, the front wall portion of the carriage will be partially received in the U-shaped recess having a width which is equal to or slightly greater than the thickness of the front wall portion so that inclination of the carriage is forcibly corrected by the stopper. Attitude correction will provide smooth loading and unloading of a disk because of accurate alignment of a plurality of sections of a guide rail used for insertion and removal of a disk casing. A nonthreaded nut made of an elastic synthetic resin may be used to minimize the play of the guide roller.
