The display according to the invention further comprises at least one fluidic transition, by way of which the fluid can be transported between the two volumes. The apparatus according to the invention has an optimized space requirement, solves the problem of uneven saturation over the surface of a display element, and is additionally not sensitive to mechanical interference.

摘要： The invention relates to a device for the generation of recognisable images and text by means of incident light, whereby the image surface is composed of numerous controlled point elements (1). Each point element (1) comprises a coloured mirror (3), embodied by a container which is at least transparent on the visible side, the interior of which is connected to a colour container (5), by means of a channel (6), the contents of which can be pressurised such as to be driven from the colour container (5) into the colour mirror (3) and, by reduction of the pressure in the colour container (5), the colour in the colour mirror (3) can be transported back into the colour container (5). According to the invention, the colour exchange may be accelerated and the energy necessary for introduction of the colour reduced whereby a moving wall (30) is arranged in the colour container (5) as a pump element, which divides the colour container (5) into a colour chamber (31) and a gas chamber (32) and the colour mirror (3) is connected to the gas chamber (32), by means of a second channel (33).

The aim of the invention is to create a device with which a clearly visible to brilliant image results when exposed to incident light. To this end, the image surface composes itself from a multitude of electronically controllable, point elements which are arranged in a grid-like manner, and each point element comprises at least one colorant reflector (3). Said colorant reflector is formed by a receptacle which is flat and at least transparent on the visible side. The interior space of the colorant reflector is connected to a colorant receptacle via a channel (6). The content of the colorant receptacle can be subjected to pressure by electronic control in such a way that colorant can be fed from the colorant container to the colorant reflector (3) and such that the colorant can be suctioned out from the colorant reflector (3) by reducing the pressure in the colorant container.

A member (18) is positioned adjacent the element for deformation of the member between a first position in which a gap (20) remains between the member and the elements and a second positon in which the member is in optical contact with the element. The apparatus incorporates a support structure (26) having one or more display chambers (24). Each display chamber contains one of the elements and members aforesaid. A first aperture (32) is provided in the support structure for air communication between the display chamber and a second chamber (30) provided in the support structure. A preferably elastomeric valve member (38) is provided in the second chamber, for deformation of the valve member between a closed position in which the valve member is biased against the first aperture to prevent air communication through the first aperture and an open position in which the valve member is biased away from the first aperture to permit air communication through the first aperture. A second aperture (36) is provided in the support structure for air communication against a base of the valve member; and, a third aperture (34) is provided in the support structure for air communication through the second chamber and through the first aperture when the valve member is in the open position.

Bei der erfindungsgemäßen Anzeigetafel werden die Bildpunkte durch verschiedenfarbige Bildpartikel gebildet, die nach Farben getrennt in Vorratsbehältern aufbewahrt, von dort mittels einer Fördereinrichtung zum Aufbau eines Bildes in einen Bildspeicher transportiert und nachdem das Bild fertig aufgebaut ist, aus dem Bildspeicher durch Mittel für den Bildwechsel in den Sichtkörper überführt werden. Bei einem erneuten Bildwechsel werden die Bildpartikel aus dem Sichtkörper über einen Sortierer farbselektiv in die Vorratsbehälter zurückgeführt.
