    • A linear motion guide unit is provided in which a crowning portion available extensively for standard specification is made easily. The crowning portion is comparatively small in depth, and rich in high accuracy and high durability. A raceway groove for a load race in a carriage is made at an ingress/egress area thereof with the crowning portion of a curved profile that varies gently to allow the rolling element to move in and out of the load race with smoothness. The carriage is provided at the forward and aft ends of the raceway groove with rounded bevels, which are made in a curved contour merging into the associated crowning portion without causing any discontinuity at a junction of the rounded bevel with the crowning portion.

    • A linear motion bearing assembly is provided including a carriage, a rail, and a bearing assembly. The linear motion bearing assembly includes deflectable structure formed in at least one of the carriage, rail and bearing assembly.     • A roller bearing for linear movement of the type wherein the rollers circulate endlessly is provided. A direction changing path is provided in the shape of a circular curve reversing relative to the direction of movement of the bearing, a connecting load track and return hole at each end, for circulating the rollers. The shape of such direction changing path is obtained in such a manner that the projection of the path onto a plane perpendicular to the direction of movement of the bearing is also a circular curve. As a result, width and height of the bearing unit are made optimum so as to achieve an overall most compact bearing unit. Also a preload device and grease are arranged. The compact endless linear movement roller bearing thus obtained is made without any decrease in the bearing load capacity of prior art apparatus the same size. The roller bearing has good rigidity due to the preload device and has very small frictional resistance due to the spatially circularly curved shape of the direction changing path for the rollers.
