    • The arrangement includes a transport means (2) comprising two endless belts (21,22) and a collecting chamber (1). Arranged in the immediate vicinity of the collecting chamber (1) are a plurality of readily moveable flaps (4) placed sequentially in the direction of transporta­tion and arranged to be briefly swung-out simultaneously into the collecting chamber for each bank note that passes and therewith displace the bank note towards one side of the chamber (1). The plurality of flaps (4) may be placed in an upper part of the chamber, while a second plurality of similar flaps (3) are placed in a lower part of the chamber (1) and arranged to swing synchronously with the first plura­lity of flaps (4). The flaps (3,4) are preferably arranged to swing at a point in time when 4/5ths of an incoming bank note are located in the collecting chamber (1). The flaps may also be arranged to swing-out at a second point in time, irrespective of the presence or absence of an incoming bank note, the time distance to the firstmentioned time point for the last incoming bank note being equal to a predetermined time interval. The flaps in the second plurality of flaps (3) are smaller than but similar in configuration to the flaps in the first plurality of flaps (4).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device that includes a simple structure that can switch conveyance directions without increasing cost, or damaging a conveyance member.SOLUTION: The sheet processing device includes: a first conveyance path A1 in which a sheet is supplied in one-side recording; and a second conveyance path R1 where the sheet is introduced from the first conveyance path in both-sides recording and that performs sheet reversing. A base end is fixed at the side of a second conveyance path R1, and an elastic plate member 47 is provided so that a free end is positioned to guide a sheet 42 toward a conveyance means 51 that is positioned at the side of a first conveyance path A1 in a merging part where the supplied position and the introduction position are merged. In the elastic plate member 47, a front edge 47A and a face P continuous thereto are positioned at a position Z where an attachment force of the sheet 42 on the conveyance means 51 is weakened by separation of the sheet 42 from the conveyance means 51 by the curvature in the circumference of the conveyance means 51. The surface P continuous to the front edge S is brought into contact with the front edge S except for the front edge 47S.
