    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suggest a check processing device capable of suppressing disorder of conveying speed of a conveyed check, while reading magnetic ink characters, and accurately performing a reading operation.
      SOLUTION: A check conveying mechanism of this check processing device 1 is provided with a plurality of conveying rollers 31 to 36 arranged along a conveying path 5 and a driven pulley 37. Rotation of a conveying motor 21 is transmitted to the rollers 31 to 36 and the pulley 37 via an endless belt 23 tensionally wrapped around the rollers 31 to 36 and the pulley 37. Conveying rollers 34 and 35 are arranged at a position where the check 4 in which the magnetic ink characters are read by a magnetic head 54 is delivered. Roller wrapping parts 23 (34) and 25 (35) of the endless belt 23 wrapped around the conveying rollers 34 and 35 are made to have less tension fluctuation than parts wrapped around other conveying rollers. When the check 4 is delivered, load fluctuation acting on the conveying rollers 34 and 35 can be suppressed, and thereby disorder of the conveying speed of the check 4 which is being read by the magnetic head 54 can be suppressed.
