摘要： A multi-level pool game apparatus having two or more generally horizontal ball-supporting playing surfaces supported in stacked relation, spaced sufficiently apart from one another to allow player access to the lower surfaces to strike balls with a cue or the like. Each surface may have one or more ball-receiving pockets. Conduits extend between pockets at adjacent surfaces to provide pathways between such adjacent surfaces. In one form of the game, each player has a set of visually distinguishable balls, and the objective is for each player to advance his/her balls along a predetermined route from surface to surface, while impeding the advance of the other players' balls along the route. In the preferred embodiment there are three or more playing surfaces and at least one set of conduits are aligned with a pocket at an intermediate playing surface to provide both upward and downward pathways from that surface. That set of aligned conduits may include a guide that interacts with a ball entering that pocket to direct the ball either to a higher or a lower surface dependent upon the speed of the ball.

摘要： A pocket billiard table is quickly and easily converted to a snooker table by a removable pocket reducer. The pocket reducer includes a pair of rail assembly extenders 20, 22 substantially identical in cross section to a permanent rail assembly 18 extending about the periphery of a playing field 16. An elongate flexible strap 30 interconnects the rail assembly extenders 20, 22 and conforms to the interior wall of the pocket. Further, end portions 32, 34 of the strap extend below the rail assembly extenders 20, 22 and contact the edge of the playing field 16 to inhibit the extenders from being displaced onto the playing field 16. A leaf spring 38 arcuately connects the rail assembly extenders 20, 22 and biases the rail assembly extenders 20, 22 against the permanent rail assembly 18 to aid in maintaining the rail assembly extenders 20, 22 in their desired position.

摘要： A pocket assembly for a pool table comprising a pocket and a pocket support structure which is mountable in a gap between the ends of rails of a pool table and supports the pocket beneath the gap and adjacent a cut-out portion of the bed of the table. The pocket is a one-piece molded container having an opened end which has a stepped configuration to provide an upper portion having a reinforcing band and a lower portion having a plurality of upstanding tabs. The pocket support structure comprises a pocket iron with an integrally molded cover which has an upper surface, curved outer surface, curved and slanting inner surface, a bottom surface, a flange which has substantially the same curvature as the outer curved surface and extends downwardly from the bottom surface, and a shield which has a center portion and a pair of end portions. The center portion extends downwardly along a line equally spaced from the flange to provide a curved recess therebetween which receives the reinforcing band as the pocket is attached to the structure.

摘要： A pool table comprises a table top having a bed provided with side and corner pocket recesses therein. A rail and bumper structure which is secured to the pool table frame is mounted on the bed and includes a plurality of elongate rail and bumper members interconnected together by side and corner connecting members. The side and corner connecting members are provided with male socket elements which are insertable into female sockets in the rail and bumper members. Each side and corner connecting member has a deflector member thereon to facilitate deflection of a pool ball into a pocket. Each concave surface of the bed which defines a pocket recess is provided with an impact member, preferably formed of plastic, to minimize damage to the cover during rebounding of a ball prior to the ball dropping into a pocket.
