    • PURPOSE:To effectively improve a bending fatigue resistance and durability to allow the toner to be hardly stuck and to effectively prevent the occurrence of the filming of the toner by using fluororesin for a conductive material as the forming material of a surface layer, as base resin. CONSTITUTION:In a conductive plastic belt 18 as a transfer intermediate body, electric resistance is controlled to a semi-conductive region (10 -10 OMEGA), to receive the toner from a photoreceptor 10 and deliver the toner to a copying paper 24. At this time, a prescribed conductive filler is compounded into the fluororesin, the volume resistivity of the conductive material is adjusted 10 -10 OMEGAcm. Thus, excellent electric characteristics are imparted to the finally obtained conductive plastic belt 18. Since the fluororesin is used as the base resin, the bending fatigue resistance of the conductive plastic belt 18 and further, the releasability of the toner are effectively improved based on the characteristics of the fluororesin.

CONSTITUTION:The electrical insulating layer to be formed on the outer peripheral surface of the metallic sleeve (shaft body) 12 is, for example, an oxide film layer 13 formed by subjecting the surface of the shaft body 12 to an oxidation treatment or a nonconductive resin layer formed by using a nonconductive coating material compsn. essentially consisting of a binder resin. For example, the surface of the metallic shaft body 12 is subjected to the oxidation treatment, by which the oxide film layer 13 of a thin layer is formed on the surface of the shaft body 12. The conductive layer 14 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the electrical insulating layer is formed by using the conductive coating material contg. the binder resin and the conductive material. The accumulation of the residual charges of toners which is the cause for the generation of fogging is prevented when the electrical insulating layer is provided between the shaft body 12 and the conductive layer 14 in such a manner and, therefore, the control of the splashing of the toners from the roll is facilitated.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the conductive roll which has the electric resistance uniform over the entire part and has excellent durability and leak resistance. CONSTITUTION:A metallic sleeve 12 is disposed coaxially in the state of having a gap on the outer periphery of a magnet shaft 42. A conductive layer 14 is formed on the outer periphery of the metallic sleeve 12 and further, a resistance layer 15 is formed on the outer periphery of this conductive layer 14. The conductive layer 14 is formed by dispersing at least either of titanium black and magnetic iron oxide and a filler into a matrix component. The resistance layer 15 is formed of a phenolic resin as a matrix component and dispersing at least either of the titanium black and magnetic iron oxide into the matrix component. In addition, the electric resistance value of the resistance layer 15 is set larger than the electric resistance value of the conductive layer 14. For example, the generation of unequal images, etc., is obviated if this roll is used as a developing roller. Uniform and good copied images are obtd. and the roll sufficiently withstands long-term use.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the conductive roll having uniform electric resistance and excellent electrostatic chargeability by constituting a conductive layer by dispersing at least either of a titanium black and magnetic iron oxide into a phenolic resin used as a matrix component. CONSTITUTION:A metallic sleeve 12 formed coaxially with the conductive layer 15 in the state of having a gap on the outer periphery of a magnet shaft 42 and further, end caps 41 are fitted to both right and left ends thereof, by which the conductive roll is produced. The phenolic resin (more particularly preferably resol type phenolic resin) is used as the matrix component of the conductive material forming the conductive layer 15. In addition, either or both of the titanium black and magnetic iron oxide are used as the conductive material to be compounded with the phenolic resin matrix component. The conductive material is thereby uniformly dispersed into the matrix component in the conductive layer.
