摘要： A curved catheter comprising a solid-walled metal tube with varying stiffness along it length. The catheter includes a tube comprising material capable of being variably heat-treated to set different physical properties along the length of the tube. The tube has a distal region with a pre-curved shape, a proximal region, distal and proximate ends, and a lumen there through. The proximal region is configured to be flexible at a first temperature and to become stiffer at a second temperature, the second temperature being higher than the first temperature. The material for the tube may be a superelastic material, such as nitinol. The superelastic material may also be capable of deformation of the pre-curved shape at the first temperature and recovery of the pre-curved shape at the second temperature. Methods of making the catheter are also disclosed.

摘要： The present invention is a temporary intraluminal filter guidewire for use during interventional procedures, such as angioplasty or stent deployment. A braided filter is mounted near the distal end of a steerable guidewire, which guides a therapeutic catheter. An actuator rod slides over the guidewire and is removably connected to the filter. The rod controls relative displacement of the filter ends, causing transformation of the filter between a deployed configuration and a collapsed configuration. Wire having enhanced radiopacity is included in the filter to provide visualization under fluoroscopy.

The catheter has a central lumen and includes a plurality of longitudinal struts and longitudinal apertures interspaced around the circumference of a proximal portion of the catheter. A self-sealing polymer is disposed on at least a portion of each strut, separably sealing the struts one to another. The struts separate to allow passage of a fluid into or out of the central lumen of the catheter and reseal to prevent passage of a fluid into or out of the central lumen.

摘要： A guidewire apparatus for use during percutaneous catheter interventions such as angioplasty or stent deployment. A protection element comprising a filter or an occluder is mounted near the distal end of a steerable guidewire, which guides a therapeutic catheter. The guidewire apparatus comprises a hollow shaft movably disposed about a core wire. The shaft and core wire control relative displacement of the ends of the protection element, causing transformation of the protection element between a deployed configuration and a collapsed configuration. The protection element is freely rotatable about the guidewire apparatus. A tracking member disposed adjacent the distal end of the guidewire apparatus can be used to guide the device along another guidewire. Thrust bearings may be employed to facilitate unlimited rotation of the steerable guidewire within the protection element, especially while the protection element is retained in the collapsed configuration.

摘要： A system for modifying a heart valve annulus includes a helically helical anchored annuloplasty device delivered to the annulus via an elongated delivery member. The helical anchors of the devices disclosed herein are rotated into the valve annulus along an anchor guide by using a driver that is movably disposed in the delivery member. A tether is disposed within an inner channel of the helical anchor and a locking device is used to secure the annuloplasty device after the valve annulus has been modified. The annuloplasty device can be delivered to the annulus using, traditional surgical approach or a minimally invasive or catheter based methods.
