    • A compressor for use in a vehicle includes a mechanical compression mechanism including a first casing and a drive shaft. The first casing has therein a first suction chamber and a first discharge chamber. The drive shaft is rotatably supported by the first casing and mechanically driven by a drive source for compression of refrigerant. The compressor further includes a linear electric compression mechanism including a second casing and a piston. The second casing has therein a second suction chamber and a second discharge chamber. The piston is reciprocally movable in the second casing and driven by electromagnetic force for compression of refrigerant. The first casing is integrated with the second casing so as to allow at least one of fluid communication between the first suction chamber and the second suction chamber and between the first discharge chamber and the second discharge chamber.

    • An objective of the present invention is to provide an inexpensive and excellent polyester resin sheet for photovoltaic batteries which enhances the electrical transduction efficiency of photovoltaic battery by improving the hydrolysis resistance and heat resistance, and further enhancing the screening potency, as well as a photovoltaic battery using the same. The polyester resin sheet for photovoltaic batteries comprises a polyester resin layer formed by using one or more layers having a number average molecular weight of 18500 to 40000 in which at least one or more layers having 5 to 40% by weight of titanium dioxide is formed on the polyester resin layer, wherein a light transmittance at wavelengths of 300 to 350 nm is 0.005 to 10%, a relative reflectance is 80% or more and 105% or less, an apparent density is 1.37 to 1.65 g/cm3, an optical density is 0.55 to 3.50, and the variation in optical density has a fluctuation of within 20% from the center value.

    • Whether an optical disc is a first optical disc or not is determined with reference to at least one of first and second focus error signal amplitude values. Then, if a sum value of the addition of a first focus balance signal value (CD-FBAL signal value) to a second focus balance signal value (DVD-FBAL signal value) is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold value, the signal surface of the optical disc is determined to be a CD signal surface of a dual disc. On the other hand, if the sum value is smaller than the predetermined threshold value, the signal surface of the optical disc is determined to be a DVD signal surface of a DVD or a DVD signal surface of a dual disc.
