    • In a solenoid portion of a solenoid valve, a fixed core for axially attracting a plunger due to magnetic force generated by a magnetic coil is divided into two. One is a cylindrical yoke having an opening at an axial end and a bottom at the other axial end. The other one is a cylindrical stator core having a flange protruding radially outwardly at an axial end thereof. The bottom of the yoke is provided with a thick body portion having a center recess. The inner surface of the opening of the yoke is fitted to an outer surface of the flange and the inner surface of the recess of the thick body portion is fitted to an outer surface of the stator core. Accordingly, constructions of molding dies for manufacturing the yoke and the stator core are simple. Further, only limited surfaces of the yoke and the stator core, which are fitted to each other, need accurate dimensions so that magnetic gap is minimized.

    • In a parallel-axis differential, pocket pairs are formed in an inner periphery of a housing and planetary gear pairs are rotatably received in the pocket pairs, respectively. With outer peripheral surfaces of the planetary gears (i.e., top faces of helical teeth) being in contact with inner peripheral surfaces of the pockets, the planetary gears are rotated relative to the housing. End portions of the helical teeth located on opposite end portions of each planetary gear are gradually reduced in height toward ends of the planetary gear. By this, top faces of end portions of those helical teeth are slightly convexly curved. The top faces of the end portions of those helical teeth are served as contact surfaces which are brought into contact with the inner peripheral surfaces of the pockets when the planetary gears are slightly inclined.

    • In a differential for vehicles, a pair of side gears are received in a housing and coaxial with the housing. The pair of side gears are spline-connected with end portions of a pair of coaxial output shafts. The pair of side gears are meshed with each other through paired element gears. Each side gear has a protrusion of a reduced diameter to be inserted in a receiving recess of the housing. A primary thrust washer and a coned disk spring are interposed between a shoulder of each side gear and the housing. A secondary thrust washer is interposed between the protrusion of the side gear and the housing. With a distal end face of the protrusion of the side gear contacting the housing through the secondary thrust washer, a distance between the shoulder of the side gear and the inner surface of the housing is larger than a total thickness of the primary thrust washer and the coned disk spring.
