This mixed solution is heated in the range of 60-90 deg.C and the alkaline aqueous solution is added to make pH of the solution seven or more. And the oxygen containing gas of e.g. air or the like is blown into form the bottom part of a reaction bath while agitating the solution, whereby the ferritic oxide film is formed onto magnetic powder.

The compactibility and crystal orientation property, when the alloy powder is compacted, are improved. Further, the assistant is easily decomposed and vaporized in the succeeding degreasing and sintering stages, and a sintered permanent magnet with the residual carbon minimized and excellent in shape holding property and magnetic characteristic is obtained.

For further improvement of corrosion resistance, it is effective that a grain boundary phase is electrochemically nobler than a main phase. Therefore, it is preferable to make the ratio of Ni and/or Co in TM in the RE-TM and RE-TM-B low melting point phase higher than that in the RE2TM14B phase.
