    • Techniques for distinguishing a pulldown field sequence from a normal field sequence are disclosed. According to one aspect of the techniques, the method for detecting pulldown field sequence comprises receiving a field sequence, combining two adjacent fields into one frame, detecting whether the combined frame has a combing phenomenon, if there is such a combing phenomenon, and determining a number of how many times the combing phenomenon occurs continuously in the combined frame. Based on the number, it can be determined whether the field sequence is a normal field sequence or a pulldown field sequence.

    • A seismic signal is represented as a combination of a geologic signal and a noise signal. The representation of the seismic signal is decomposed into a linear combination of orthonormal components. One or more components are identified in which the geologic signal and the noise signal are uncorrelated. The noise signal is expanded as a product of an unknown noise amplitude modulation signal and a known noise spatial periodicity signal at the identified components. The expansion is solved for an estimate of the noise amplitude modulation signal at the identified components. The noise signal is estimated by multiplying the estimated noise amplitude modulation signal by the noise spatial periodicity signal. The estimated noise signal can be removed from the seismic signal to generate an estimate of the geologic signal.

    • Embodiments pertaining to managing access in one or more computing systems can include an operations controller in communication with the one or more computing systems for managing commercial transactions of the one or more computing systems and an access management controller in communication with the operations controller. The access management controller can receive an input including user roles and actions associated with the one or more computing systems. The access management controller can provide the input to the operations controller for implementation of access rules in accordance with relationships between the user roles and the actions. The access management controller can attempt to access in the one or more computing systems at least a portion of the user roles and the actions after the operations controller has implemented the access rules. The access management controller can compare the attempted access with the relationships to determine access discrepancies.
