摘要： An article of apparel is provided for determining location information via a global positioning system and transmitting the location information to a remote location. The article of apparel comprises a fabric web having at least one yarn of wire formed within the fabric web. The yarn of wire forms an antenna for receipt and transmission of radio frequency signals. A GPS receiver is interconnected to the antenna, wherein the GPS receiver determines a location of the article of apparel via a global positioning system. A transmitter is provided to transmit the location of the article of apparel determined by the GPS receiver. A power supply is interconnected to the GPS receiver and the transmitter.

摘要： A heat pump circuit is installed into the inner cavity of a chimney venting the combustion gases of a burner servicing a dwelling with the exterior heat pump coil mounted in an annular gap formed around the upper chimney end. A fan driven by the chimney draft augmented by the burner then rotates an exterior rank of blade segments above the annular space to draw ambient air across the exterior coil. A set of gated apertures in the chimney wall both above and below the flue damper then directs zoned airflows up into the chimney and across the inner coil that is deployed at, the lower, interior chimney opening with the air heated in a chamber surrounding the burner either selectively routed into the chimney to further increase the chimney draft or routed into the dwelling for warmth.

Typically, the restart is implemented in much the same manner as a start operation that is performed when a node is initially added to a cluster, with additional functionality utilized to preclude repeated restart attempts upon a failure of a prior restart operation.

摘要： The present invention permits deferring the final provisioning of the Card Information Structure (CIS) in the attribute memory space of expansion cards (or modules) for portable hosts. This enables expansion cards to be distributed, sold, and installed by their end-users prior to the final provisioning, which is performed during their initial use. A temporary default CIS image is provided that permits baseline functionality of the expansion card with a host device. Providing the default CIS data enables provisional installation and operation of the card in the host, including accessing the card by way of default card services and socket software layers, as provided in the standard software environment of the host. The provisional operation enables higher level software to program the final CIS values in the peripheral controller internal CIS data-structure, EEPROM on the card, or any combination of the two.

摘要： A new architecture capable of utilizing the existing twisted pair interface between customer premises equipment and an associated serving local switching office is used to provide a vast array of new services to customers. Using an intelligent services director (ISD) at the customer services equipment as an interface for the equipment to an existing twisted cable pair and a facilities management platform (FMP) at the serving local switching office as an interface to various networks and service opportunities, new services such as simultaneous, multiple calls (voice analog or digital), facsimile, Internet traffic and other data can be transmitted and received over the twisted cable pair by using digital subscriber loop transmission schemes. The new services include but are not limited to videophone, utility meter reading and monitoring, broadcasting and multicasting. The architecture provides for fault-tolerant, transparent interaction of components and services and supports a variety of standards for each level of the open systems interconnection layers and layers of TCP/IP. The FMP connects electronically or optically to the public switched telephone network, Internet backbone, a private Intranet as well as other possible network connections.

摘要： We make particulates, especially magnetic Fe—Co alloys having high magnetic permeability, of controlled dimensions, especially those having a narrow thickness size distribution centered around a median or target thickness in the range of about 0.1-1.0 μm, using electrodeposition typically on a smooth (polished) titanium cathode. Our preferred continuous process uses a rotating drum cathode inside a fixed anode to grow flakes and to produce them automatically by inherent instability in the deposited film. The drum preferably rotates about a substantially vertical axis. The particulates shed (slough off) into the electrolyte (because of mismatch between the cathode surface and the plated metal or alloy at the molecular level) where they are separated in a magnetic separator or other suitable device. If the flakes are soft iron or iron-cobalt alloys, the drum generally is titanium or titanium alloy.
