CONSTITUTION:Nozzles 1 and 2 are respectively arranged on the upper and lower sides of the steel sheet 7, flow controllers 9 and 8 for separately controlling the amt. of plating soln. to be discharged are connected to the nozzles 1 and 2, and the flow rates of the plating soln. flowing along the upper and lower surfaces of the steel sheet 7 are separately controlled. Electrodes 3 and 4 are further arranged on the upper and lower sides of the steel sheet 7, a dumb roll 5 and a conductive roll 6 are provided, the sheet is passed, energization is carried out, and the upper and lower surfaces of the steel sheet 7 are plated. By this method, the steel sheet 7 having a uniform alloy plating on both sides can be produced without increasing the relative velocity between the plating soln. and the steel sheet 7, and further the electroplated steel sheet 7 having alloy platings of different compositions on both sides can also be produced.

    • PURPOSE:To cool uniformly the top and bottom surfaces of a high-temp. thick steel plate made by hot rolling by setting a reference value from the width of the steel plate and water flow density in accordance with a preliminary made table for the reference value and correcting the reference value by the correction value set from the thickness of the steel plate and determining said value as the shielding width by a shielding member. CONSTITUTION:The set table is made on the basis of experiment and empirical rule and the reference value is set from the width of the steel plate and water flow density. The reference value is corrected by the correction value set from the thickness of the steel plate and the corrected value is determined as the shielding width by the shielding member. The shielding width at each end in the transverse direction of the steel plate by the shielding member can be set easily in short time in the above-mentioned way without the calculation of convergence. The shielding width of the shielding plate is thus set and the hot rolled high-temp. steel plate is cooled by the cooling water flow from the top and bottom surfaces.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the malshape of a steel sheet caused by a cooling strain and to improve the shape of a steel sheet after cooling by specifying the ratio of water flow rates for both sides of the sheet in cooling a hot steel sheet after hot rolling by the cooling water of prescribed average flow-rate density, from the front end of sheet to the rear end in sequence in the restrained passing direction of sheet. CONSTITUTION:A hot steel sheet rolled by hot thick-sheet finish rolling is passed along a pass line 1 in a nonstrained state. During this time, the steel sheet is directly hardened by cooling both sides of the high-temperature steel sheet from its front end to its rear end in sequence in its passing direction with the aids of cooling-water flows sprayed from respective nozzles 5', 7 through upper and lower headers 4, 6 used for hardening the sheet directly in an on-line. In this case, both sides of the sheet are cooled by regulating the cooling-water flow to an average flow-rate density of 0.7- 2.0m /sec.m , and regulating the starting temperature of cooling of the sheet to >=Ar3 transformation point and the cooling stopping temperature to >=200 deg.C. And the flow- rate ratio of cooling water (upper side flow-rate/lower side flow-rate) for both sides of steel sheet is prescribed within a range expresed by the equation. After a result, the prescribed quality of steel sheet by the direct on-line hardening is obtained.
