摘要： Trimethylsilyl or another easily hydrolyzed ester of 6-trimethylsilyloxycarbonylaminopenicillanic acid was prepared by bubbling dry carbon dioxide into an anhydrous solution of the corresponding 6-trimethylsilylaminopenicillanate and found to be a useful intermediate in the production of penicillins, e.g., amoxicillin and ampicillin, by its acylation in anhydrous media with the appropriate acid chloride or acid chloride hydrochloride.

摘要： There is disclosed a method for minimizing ozone fading in dyed polyamides by treating the dyed polyamide with a substituted piperidine thiourea of the formula ##STR1## where R is a lower alkyl radical having 1-5 carbon atoms or phenyl. The treated dyed polyamides, preferably in fiber form, display minimize ozone fade without a reduction in light stability.

摘要： This invention is directed to a heat circulating fireplace arranged and constructed to control the temperature in which air is delivered to an insert module and to control the temperature of the heated air discharged into the fireplace room and/or adjacent rooms. The fireplace includes an air control assembly operably coupled to an insert module which is adapted to be mounted into an existing fireplace or may be part of the original fireplace assembly. The air control assembly including damper means is associated with the fan means and is capable of proportioning outside air and/or room air into the insert module so as to maintain a predetermined temperature of heated air being discharged. The damper means is operable to control or proportion room air and/or outside air to maintain a desired temperature gradient between air to be heated and discharged air to the fireplace room and/or adjacent rooms. Air inlet ducts and heated air outlet ducts are coupled in fluid communication to the insert module. Fan means are adapted to be mounted in fluid communication with the air inlet ducts for conducting air to be heated through the insert module in heat exchange relation with the heat exchanger and the hot combustion gases. The heated air is conducted through the outlet ducts and discharged into the area adjacent to or remote from the fireplace.

These compounds are commonly prepared by cleaving the amide bond of compounds having the formula ##SPC1##In which R.sup.6 is H or ##EQU1## R is the side chain of a known penicillin, especially phenoxymethyl or benzyl, and the amino and carboxyl functions are blocked; byA. halogenating the blocked compounds Ia or IIa to produce an imino-halide;B. forming an imino-ether from the imino-halide by treatment with an alcohol; andC. mixing said imino-ether with water or an alcohol to produce 7-aminocephalosporanic acid or 7-amino-3-methyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid.The invention claimed is the use of dicyclohexylamine or diisopropylamine instead of a tertiary amine acid scavenger in step A.
