    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encryption key setting method which has high-level security such that information leaks with very low possibility even when a PC is stolen by any possibility.
      SOLUTION: The PC 20 generates a public key C1 and a secret key C1. A management server 10, when receiving the open key C1 and a setting request packet from the PC 20, generates its public key S1 and secret key S1. The PC 20 receives the public key S1, and encrypts and sends back its intrinsic information. The management server 10 decodes the encrypted information and generates a security key by using the intrinsic information, time information, etc. The PC 20 decodes the security key by using the public key C1 and transmits the the decoded security key. The PC 20 decodes the received encrypted information by using the secret key C1 and encrypts predetermined data by using the security key.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for setting an encryption key by simple work while assuring advanced security. SOLUTION: A wireless router 2 generates a public key 1 and a private key 1. Upon receiving a setting request packet from a wireless adapter 3, the public key 1 is transmitted. In response to an acknowledgement from a single wireless router 2, the wireless adapter 3 sends back its own inherent information and the information obtained by encrypting the inherent information using the public key 1. The wireless router 2 decrypts the encrypted information and authenticates its wireless adapter 3, if the decrypted information agrees with the received intrinsic information. The authenticated wireless adapter 3 generates a WEP key in a random manner and encrypts it with the public key 1, before being transmitted to the wireless router 2. The video RAM expands images into a resolution of 720×480 pixels in accordance with the ITU-R601 standard. Immediately before outputting to a TV 5, the video data expanded in the video RAM are compression-corrected into 8/9 longitudinally and outputted by estimating a dot aspect ratio 9:8 of the television having a screen aspect ratio 4:3. Thus, even if video data for PC stored on the PC 1 are outputted to the TV, the video data are neither distorted longitudinally nor laterally, so that a user can view the video data without the sense of incompatibility.
