    • The inverted bonnet hair dryer is comprised of a bowl with a closed end and an open end. The bowl is pivotally supported on a stand and is rotatable to a position with its open end facing upward. The bowl is comprised of a hemispherical concave inner wall which is generally spaced from an outer wall. The perimeter of the inner wall is connected to the outer wall to define a space between the walls. A hollow tube is attached to the outer wall. An aperture at an outer end of the tube is in communication with the space within the bowl. The aperture is adapted to receive the head of a conventional hand-held electric blow dryer. When the open end is facing upward, the bowl is adapted to be positioned under the head of a person. The head is inverted to hang the hair under the head. The inner wall of the bowl is adapted to evenly support the hair. When the blow dryer is activated, hot air is forced into the space between the walls and released through holes on the inner wall to dry the hair. Greater volume in the hair is produced by drying it in a hanging position under an inverted head. In a second embodiment, an electric blow dryer is integrally attached to the bowl.

    • An air amplifier device has a body with two pieces which fit together and have an inner wall defining a generally cylindrical cavity with a center axis and with an entrance opening at its upper end and an exit opening at its other end. The two pieces have respective shoulders which abut to index the pieces in precise relationship radially, axially, and longitudinally. A pair of circular lips in the inner wall near the entrance opening form a venturi jet air opening through the inner wall to direct a controlled flow of air from a supply of air down into the cylindrical cavity. The lips are uniformly parallel with each other and concentric with the center axis, are closely and uniformly spaced apart for 360 degrees around their lengths and are two circular edges of the respective pieces, and are indexed to the respective shoulders of the pieces such that when the pieces are assembled the jet air opening is uniform within a fraction of a thousandth of an inch.

    • This invention is a new, energy efficient, environmentally clean grain drying system which consists of two main parts: a hot drying air generator and a modular, portable drying bin. One novel aspect of the air generator is the introduction of a heat pipe design which enhances the efficiency of a dehumidifier heat pump, making its use economically feasible, especially for humid climates. Another novel aspect is the use of advanced burners incorporating antipollution devices. The hot air generator can operate on many sources of energy such as electricity; gasoline; diesel; biomass such as wood, charcoal, or rice husks; or even solar energy. The modular bin is made of several modules which can be disassembled, transported, and reassembled with great ease. The bin design also creates a very low air pressure drop, allowing substantial savings on blower energy. The complete system will offer great benefits for developing countries that are producers of rice, especially for those with humid climates. With this advanced dryer system, the small producers of rice located far from means of transportation can preserve their harvest and offer higher quality products at a lower production cost.

    • An apparatus that directs the flow of heated air that is being discharged from a clothing dryer, in which the dryer is positioned upon a rigid support, that elevates the dryer above the normal ground surface. The dryer discharge hose is connected at one end to the dryer, and to a valve assembly, located beneath the dryer, housed in the dryer support. The valve may be actuated so that heated air is either directed to flow through the valve assembly, into another hose which vents directly outside, or through an interior discharge opening, so that heated air is reintroduced back into the dwelling. The apparatus is provided with an access door, so that the valve can be positioned as desired. If air is being reintroduced back into the dwelling, a removable air filtration system is provided. In the event that the air filtration system becomes overwhelmed with particulate matter, the valve has a safety flap which is actuated by increased air pressure, and allows the heated air to vent outside. This prevents possible risk of fire and damage to the dryer unit due to inability to discharge heated air.

    • A shirt-smoothing device includes a lower part and an inflatable body fixed thereon. Because the inflatable body must be at least the same size as the shirt to be smoothed, the device has considerable height, however, the rigid components in the area of the inflatable body are lowerable to handle the device more easily and, more particularly, to stow it away easily. An internally disposed supporting frame and a button strip tensioner disposed in front of the inflatable body can be lowered after use into the lower part, whereby the inflatable body, which is exclusively connected to the supporting frame at the top becomes folded. The same applies to flexible inflatable support bodied and support nets disposed between the inflatable body and the supporting frame. The storage space required for the shirt smoothing device can be substantially reduced by the invention and the handling and storage thereof simplified.

    • A portable hand dryer has an air blower and, optionally, an air heater. The hand dryer includes a laterally protruding male electrical plug having at least two prongs which provides electricity to the blower and which allows the hand dryer to be supported from a structure wall.
