    • PURPOSE:To secure favorable ignitability for a lean air-fuel mixture, by installing the solenoid force driven type spark plug installed in a trigger electrode, in a space between base end parts of a pair of parallel electrodes, while making a relatively rich air-fuel mixture so as to be fed to the trigger electrode part by an auxiliary fuel feeding device. CONSTITUTION:A pair of sizable parallel electrodes 2 and 3 in length and a trigger electrode 4 is installed in a space between base end parts of both these electrodes 2 and 3 whereby an electrode driven type spark plug 1 is constituted. And, there are provided with a constant-current feeding device for producing main discharge between both these parallel electrodes 2 and 3 of this plug 1 and a trigger device for producing initial discharge between one parallel electrode 2 and the trigger electrode 4 and inducing the said main discharge, and the relatively rich air-fuel mixture is made so as to be fed to the vicinity of a position where the initial discharge is produced from an auxiliary fuel feeding device 28. With this constitution as aforesaid, the sparkler formed between the parallel electrodes 2 and 3 moves at high speed to a tip direction of these parallel electrodes 2 and 3 whereby ambient mixture is made so as to be successively ignitable.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain high combustion efficiency and excellent fuel consumption by burning air-fuel mixture in a cylinder by use of combustion gas as a primer produced from ignited/burnt air-fuel mixture in the fuel concentrating part. CONSTITUTION:A grounded electrode 32 is opposingly mounted on the edge of a center electrode 31. A air-fuel mixture staying near a fuel concentrating part 39, formed on the piston side, of the grounded electrode 32 is ignited/burnt with a spark between the respective electrodes 31, 32 acting as the first primer. The air-fuel mixture in a cylinder is also burnt with combustion gas of strong intensity acting, as the second primer following, an expansion-turbulence action produce in the fuel concentrating part 39. The initial combustion speed right after ignition can be remarkably accelerated by spreading combustion of the gas in the fuel concentrating part 39 with strong or intensity than the spark between respective electrodes 31, 32. In this way, high combustion efficiency and remarkably superior fuel consumption cna be obtained.
