摘要： 26,743. Riedl, E. E. Nov. 29. Couplings, automatic, of the kind in which a hook pivoted on one vehicle enters a box on the other vehicle and engages behind the front wall of the box. The invention comprises the positive disengagement of the coupled parts by the operation of unlocking the coupling. In coupling, the hook 4 enters the funnel-shaped mouth 3 of the box 2, and pushes back an arm 7 carried by a boss 7 fixed on a cross-shaft 6. A spring 8 acting on a second arm 7 on the boss returns the arm 7 to the locking position shown on the left of Fig. 1. A curved lever 9 loosely mounted on the pivot bolt 5 of the hook 4 has one arm extending between the arm 7 and the spring 8, while the other arm terminates close to the end of the coupled hook 4. To unlock the coupling, the shaft 6 is rotated, and the arm 7 acting on the adjacent end of the lever 9 causes the opposite end of the lever to disengage the coupled hook 4. The hook 4 is supported in position for coupling by arms 10 fixed on the shaft 6.
