    • PURPOSE: To obtain a composite material having a high resistance against a vertical pressure by providing a coating layer of a plastic material or a rubber formed of a glass fiber constant length material arranged in parallel with each other and reinforced by thermosetting or thermoplastic resin, and filled with thermosetting resin in a gap therebetween. CONSTITUTION: Glass fibers 3 are arranged in parallel with each other, and then gaps are blocked with filler resin 4. In one embodiment, the gap is blocked with foam. Then, a coating layer 5 is bonded or directly adhered during the step. To manufacture a molding having a hollow cylindrical shape, a tube such as, for example, a plastic tube is used as a starting material, glass fiber constant length material is arranged around the tube, and the gaps are blocked with the resin. As an alternative embodiment of a manufacturing method, glass fiber constant length material is positioned by using highly filled with a consolidating agent or synthetic adhesive, and then fixed, for example, by using a reinforced layer by winding.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a sheet material which is superior in dimensional stability and shape retention properties and has high-degree adhesive properties, by a method wherein a resinous solution whose heat-shrinkability is low is infiltrated into a porous polytetrafluoroethylene sheet and a resinous material coating layer whose curing state or curing rate is lower than that of the infiltrating resin of a specific thickness or more is formed on one side. CONSTITUTION:A liquid body of synthetic resin whose heat-shrinkability is lower than that of a porous polytetrafluoroethylene sheet 1 is infiltrated into the sheet 1 for curing 2 and a resinous material coating layer 3 is formed on one side of the impregnated sheet 10. A void content, mean hole diameter and thickness of the porous polytetrafluoroethylene 1 are 50-90%, 0.1-3mm and 5-250mum, respectively. A mixture comprised, for example, of polyimide resin or polyurethane resin or a mixture of two kinds of those resins is available as the synthetic resin liquid body which is infiltrated into the porous sheet 1 and has low heat-shrinkability. The same is made into a liquid body of a necessary density with various solvents such as methyl ethyl ketone. It is necessary that either one of a curing state or a curing rate or both of the resinous coating layer 3 are lower than those of the synthetic resin infiltrated into the sheet 1 and a thickness of the resinous coating layer 3 is 3mum or thicker.
