    • An injector is disclosed which comprises a valve needle engageable with a seating. A spring urges the needle towards its seating, the spring engaging a spring abutment. A pressure backing member positioned within the injector is slidable relative to the spring abutment under the action of the pressure of fuel applied thereto. The pressure backing member is engageable with a surface associate with the needle to urge the needle towards its seating. The slidable pressure backing member reduces the pressure in the pumping chamber both prior to and after termination of the injection process. Also, the backing member maintains the pressure in a fuel supply passage of a low level to enhance the efficiency of the injector.

    • A fuel injection nozzle for preinjection and main injection has a nozzle holder in which two closing springs are arranged coaxially, one spring acts continuously on the valve needle via a central pressure bolt and the other spring acts on the valve needle, via a pressure ring surrounding the pressure bolt, once the valve needle has passed through a pretravel (h.sub.v). Between the valve needle and the pressure bolt and the pressure ring, an intermediate pressure element which is constructed as a disk is arranged, the outer edge area of the intermediate pressure element does not come into contact with the pressure ring until after the valve needle has passed through the pretravel (h.sub.v), which pressure is supported in the closed position of the valve needle by a shoulder of an intermediate disk. In order to prevent the connection between the low pressure space at the valve needle and the pressure-relieved spring chamber being interrupted in the pretravel position when the intermediate pressure element comes into axial contact with the pressure ring which is supported on the shoulder of the intermediate disk, bridging channels are arranged at least in the intermediate pressure element.

    • A cross-section controlled multi-jet injection valve for an air-distributor injection in air-compressing combustion engines is provided. In order to fulfill the more stringent requirements and standards for exhaust fume quality it is necessary to provide a homogenous fuel/air mixture. This is achieved with a valve needle which is provided with an axially and radially oriented key. Due to this key a favorable ratio of injection cross-section to circumference of the respective cross-section is achieved. Accordingly, a division of the injection jet and a mixing with air is provided. Due to correspondingly adjusted pressure springs the injection pressure at varying amounts of fuel to be injected is kept constant which furthermore provides a constant homogeneity of the fuel/air mixture. Thus an excellent exhaust fume quality is obtained for the entire performance range.

    • A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines having a nozzle body secured on a nozzle holder, and a valve needle that is axially displaceable in the nozzle holder, the valve needle being raised from a valve seat for fuel injection by the fuel pressure, counter to a closing spring assembly of first and second helical compression springs disposed in series. The total stroke of the valve needle is divided into a prestroke and a remaining stroke. To attain an injection nozzle having the smallest possible outside diameter, the spring chamber receiving the closing springs comprises a blind bore of substantially constant diameter, on a bottom of which the first closing spring is supported. To support the second closing spring, a pressure shoulder part in the form of a ring is inserted into the blind bore; the pressure shoulder part is fixed by deformation of contacting parts of the wall of the nozzle holder. Recesses are machined into the circumference of the pressure shoulder part and for easier deformation of portions of the wall of the nozzle holder in the region of the pressure shoulder part, recesses are machined into the outer wall of the pressure shoulder part, with a portion of the wall of the nozzle holder forming the bottom being deformed to form a form-fitting connection with the recesses of the pressure shoulder part.
