摘要： An objective lens apparatus for an optical disc player comprises an objective lens holder rotatable about a center axis, an objective lens carried by the holder at a location spaced from the center axis, an optical member, a magnetic flux generating member for generating magnetic flux, and tracking and focusing coils interacting with the magnetic flux for effecting tracking and focusing adjustments of the objective lens. The optical member rotates simultaneously with the lens holder and leads light which is incident along the center axis to the objective lens in a direction parallel to the center axis thereby eliminating optical modulation of the light caused by rotation of the lens holder in the tracking direction.

摘要： A wristwatch comprises a watch movement having an outwardly curved frame portion, and a micro motor mounted on the watch movement. The micro motor comprises a curved magnetic core, a coil wound on the magnetic core, and a stator connected to the magnetic core to define therewith a closed magnetic flux path and having an opening therein in which a rotor is rotatably disposed. The magnetic core is curved outwardly with a curvature similar to and conforming to that of the outwardly curved frame of the watch movement, and the curved magnetic core overlies the curved frame of the watch movement so that no wasted space exists therebetween. The stator comprises a pair of stator pieces each connected at one end to a respective end portion of the curved magnetic core and the stator pieces have curved side edge portions extending at least partly along the curvature of said curved mangetic core to thereby form a compact overall assembly.

摘要： A liquid refractometer comprising a light source unit, a probe unit and a detection unit. The light source unit generates a beam of polarized mixed light composed of two coherent light waves that have been linearly polarized in directions at right angles to each other. The probe unit contains a polarization separation portion, a sample holding portion, a reference portion and a beam mixing portion. The polarization separation portion separates the mixed light beam back into the two polarized waves and directs one of the beams through the sample portion and the other beam through the reference portion. The mixing portion re-mixes the two waves after having passed through the sample holding portion and the reference portion. The detection unit receives the re-mixed light and measures the refractive index differences between the liquid sample and the reference portion. Fiber optics optically connect the light source unit, the probe unit and the detector unit.

摘要： This invention relates to the reduction of programming voltage in a non-volatile memory of the type having a double gate structure composed of a select-gate and a floating-gate. A channel region under the select-gate is highly doped and a channel region under the floating gate is lightly doped or doped to opposite conductivity type. Due to the different doping concentrations between these two channel regions, a large and steep surface potential gap appears at the transition region between the select-gate and the floating-gate in the programming operation thereby reducing the programming voltage.

摘要： A thin film transistor array for a liquid crystal display device is produced by simultaneously forming gate electrodes and picture element electrodes; forming islands of a layered structure comprised of a gate insulating film, a thin semiconductor film and a light shielding film in a single masking step; and forming the gate, source and drain wiring metals in contact windows by the "lift-off" technique after using a resist film for opening the contact windows. Only three masking steps are required thereby enabling an increase in production yield and a lower production cost as compared to conventional techniques which typically require seven masking steps.
