摘要： A memory medium includes a memory layer of a polymer liquid crystal and a reflection layer disposed on a substrate. A record part having a different refractive index from that of a non-record part is formed in the memory layer so that the record part and the non-record part have a difference in optical thickness of the memory layer. In a reproduction step, the memory medium is irradiated with a reproduction beam of coherent light so that the reproduction beam is transmitted through the memory layer, reflected at the reflection layer and re-transmitted through the memory layer, during which the reproduction beam is subjected to interferential diffraction due to the optical thickness difference between the record part and the non-record part to allow readout of the recorded data.

摘要： A display medium having a display face is composed of a plurality of display layers laminated parallel to the display face. Each display layer comprises a polymer liquid crystal having a mesomorphic temperature range between its glass transition temperature and the upper limit temperature of a liquid crystal phase used for display. The mesomorphic temperature ranges of the plurality of display layers do not overlap each other. The optical densities of the display layers are controlled independently from the other by controlling the heating temperatures and cooling rates of the display layers, and the gradation of each color can be also controlled, so that a full-color display can be realized.

摘要： A toner for developing electrostatic latent images is produced by a process comprising the steps of: (a) preliminarily dispersing a monomer composition comprising at least a polymerizable monomer and a colorant in a liquid dispersion medium which is substantially mutually-insoluble with the monomer and contains a fine powdery dispersion stabilizer, thereby to form a liquid dispersion containing the preliminarily dispersed monomer composition; (b) pressurizing the liquid dispersion up to a pressure of 10 kg/cm.sup.2 or above; (c) ejecting the dispersion into a low pressure section to form particles of the monomer composition; and (d) subjecting the particles of the monomer composition to suspension polymerization, thereby to produce toner particles.
