    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine whether or not knocking has occurred in view of both the knocking and noise.
      SOLUTION: In the knocking determining device, an engine ECU executes a program including a step (S500) of calculating a knock severity N by using a correlation coefficient K calculated based on integrated values in a synthetic waveform of a first frequency band A to a third frequency band C and a vibration waveform of a fourth frequency band D, when it is tentatively determined that the knocking has occurred (YES in S400), based on a fact such that there is an integrated value greater than product of multiplication of a reference severity and a coefficient Y in integrated values of vibration in the fourth frequency band D including the first frequency band A to the third frequency band C in which the frequency of vibration resulting from the knocking is contained. Whether or not the knocking has occurred is determined by comparing the knock severity N with a determination value V(KX). When there is no integrated value greater than the product of multiplication of the reference severity and the coefficient Y, it is determined that no knocking has occurred.
